Wooried about hair loss during Minoxidil application

Hey guys, I'm losing about 20-25 hairs a day while rubbing the minoxidil. into my scalp twice a day. I'm kinda worried about this, I mean, were these hairs going to fall out anyway? I've only been on it for about 10 days, so I doubt the shedding has already begun. Do you guys experience the same thing during application?

It's totally possible your shedding has started if the hairs you are losing were nearing the end of the telogen phase anyway. I wouldn't worry about it, just remember to expect this as something that may happen for the next couple months or so. I personally don't recall a shed, but I was losing so much hair at that point anyway that I wouldn't have noticed.

Thanks beaner, Ive been looking more closely and have come to the conclusion (tentatively) that the action of massaging my scalp is mostly causing the hair loss. I don't think there's enough hairloss to classify as shedding. It's funny how we all get freaked out and start overanalyzing when starting treatments.

Omg! I was wrong!!! :freaked2: I had the time to take some pics and observe very closely in the mirror and I can seriously see hair loss! It's too much of a coincidence that these areas are all exactly where I have been applying minoxidil. Almost like seeing a mold of where I have been applying the topical. It freaked me out looking at the close up pics I took with cell phone. Maybe I'm putting too much on? I will go through the 1st bottle in about 2 1/2 weeks. Could it be the dutas also? I have been on those for 2 weeks also.

Sorry for bugging everyone here :( I have no one else to talk to about this

Don't freak out. I couldnt be sure if it is the Dutas but I think it is probably the minoxidil causing the shed and it will grow back and probably thicker. Sounds like you may be using too much though...almost twice as much as recommended. I would recommend only using 1ml per application, you should be getting a month out of your bottles.
