Can someone fill me in on the situation?

Am I right that the Dodgers are looking like they're going to the WS? What's the situation on the Phillies?

Anyone know the date of the WS?

Thanks

Dodgers lost last night, they're out. The Phillies are in for the National League. Game 5 between my beloved Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays is tonight, but the Rays are up 3-1 in the series, and they're playing great baseball. Unless the Sox play 3 perfect games of baseball, it's going to be Tampa Bay vs Philly in the World Series.

Hey I say woohoo for both of those teams! The Phils havn't been in it for a while, and the D-Rays have never been in it. It should be interesting to watch. I'm just glad the Yankees aren't in it again - so sick of them always being in it year after year. :thumbdown2:

It sucks the Red Sox and LA lost, but it's good to see new teams in it. It would have been nice to see the Cubs win it though.

Not over yet in the AL. GO SOX!!!!!!!!

GO PHILLIES!!!!!

If the Sox get there, I hope the Sox mop the floor with the Phillies. Outside of that, Philly deserves a championship parade.

dudemon, I hope you're right, but I think you're underestimating Tampa. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but if the Sox win, it's due to momentum...Tampa has been the better team in every aspect of the game.

i would have liked to see LA vs Tampa. LA, just because im a Torre fan and i would have loved to watch him rub it in Hank Steinbrenner's face. He did anyways.
That said, I despise Boston. Lets go Tampa. They deserve it for their regular season.

Guys, I could care less about Boston or Tampa. But I want to see Boston vs. LA. Tampa Bay fans make me sick. They never ever ever supported their team until just now. Pathetic. Anyways, I say the Red Sox finish the Ray's tonight.

Cassin, the Sox fans are the best in baseball. Unfortunately, the best fans in baseball don't really get a chance to go to games because they get priced out of tickets. Going to a game at Fenway is really expensive. Outside of the tickets, you're looking at $40 to park, and $7 beers and $5 hot dogs the rest of the way...and the typical blue collar Boston fans simply can't afford that nowadays. What you see at Sox games are more of a corporate crowd who just go to say they went. The average person can't afford a night at Fenway, unfortunately. I experience this first hand during the Celts run to the finals. I had season tix, so I was there from the beginning, and the fans on day 1 of the season vs Washington were louder than the fans in the finals, in my opinion. It was the same instance...you saw way more shirts and ties during the finals than green t-shirts that you saw early in the season. Sox fans are, however, the best in baseball.

You know who told me "Red Sox Nation" was a fraud? My dear friend who is born and raised in Boston and is back there now. He says they are a very small very loud vocal minority.

Coming from NY, i would have to disagree with you. However, I totally agree with you in ticket prices. Its a real shame when the average true fan can no longer afford to go to a stadium unless he sits in the nosebleed section where he needs binoculars.
Season tickets is a whole other story. However, my uncle works for a corporation that gets free tickets right above the dugout so I luck out occasionaly but thats really the only people who are getting and able to afford the seats these days

$7 a beer in Boston is a bargain.

Los Angeles charges $12 for the big beer.

It is much cheaper to just take a hit of acid before the game, and that way you are too freaked out to think about eating or drinking.

This is just the sad reality of the MLB these days. I'm glad my favorite team is the Oakland A's and they still have affordable seats. But they are in the process of opening up a new stadium which will definitely become another new generation Corporate Stadium.

Also, I've got to ask... Why the hell do the Devil Rays play in a covered stadium? I mean I understand why they do that in Minnesota, but Tampa Bay? Give me a break. It must be disgusting in there with 60,000 other people in there and no opening to exhaust all the stale air.
