Worried: don’t know what I am doing wrong!

So I am a 25 year old male, I started to notice balding about 21, it was a gradual loss that has enhanced in the last year.

I started finasteride in the last seven months. My hair loss has actually intensified in the last month or two. I have been using Dr Pen without min for the last month.

I am quite worried about this. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing wrong. I have saw people on forums see a massive improvement in hair growth over a few months on Finasteride. This is not happening with me.

What can I do about this? If my hair thins any further, I will start to see my scalp.

Finasteride maintains for the most part and will slightly regrow. This can take a year to really see.

new treatments or dropping treatments causes a shed. So that’s why you’re probably seeing more hair loss. Sometimes it takes a while, be patient and trust in the stats

thanks is there anything I can do at all to enhance the growth? Or encourage growth?

Give finasteride about 12 months, if not happy with results add minoxidil, needling on its own without minoxidil probably won't do much.

I have been concerned about using Min after reading that it can cause a shed and only provides growth in 40% of men. Do you think it would make a difference?

You change Finasteride brand? Also consider you added a derma pen and minoxidil which will cause shedding.... So add a Ketaconazole shampoo and give the treatments time.

I did change brands but I can’t determine what brand they send me do you want me to show it and the ingredients? I have not used min.

That’s your issue, most people who change brands 90% time experience loss and shedding.... I seen this issue numerous times all the years I been on the forums, either use the legit brand Merck Propecia or switch back to the original brand you started....

Don't expect growth on finasteride. It simply just maintains what you still have left. For me it's minoxidil twice a day that gave me some sort of growth

Why would that cause shedding? Finasteride is finasteride??
I wouldn't worry about that. You can have your hormones tested if it isn't working at all. I think you misunderstood about the utility of minoxidil. I would recommend that you use 2 percent even though the bottle may be pink, it's the same stuff and probably causes less shedding than five percent. The derma-pen will start working but it might take six months of once a week sessions.

I am uncertain as well why that is deemed to matter but I get my stuff from the pharmacy, not off-shore. If you are getting your meds at the pharmacy, even generics, it should be okay. Some meds can have different fillers which can make a difference but they all work unless counterfeit.

Yes I’m growing increasingly concerned. My hair loss has sped up rapidly in the last week, I can now see very clearly into my scalp, my hair is the thinnest that it has ever been. Thankfully you can’t see it when my hair is covered over.

Is there anything I can do to stop this at all? It just seems strange to suddenly lose such a large amount of hair.

I have to say that the hair loss is not obvious, I am not seeing hairs on my pillows or in the shower.

I was watching a YouTuber who said that this can happen due to inflammation but wouldn’t say how to treat it or what to do?

Inflammation appears more and more to be intertwined with hair loss but we don't appear to know if it is a cause and effect sort of relationship or more so a concurrent happening. Keto shampoo is inexpensive and I recommend that for inflammation.
