Worrying about my minoxidil regimen, please help

My hairloss was level I one year ago. As my father has a level VI, I decided to do something to avoid suffering a same misery.

I've applied Propecia for 1mg/day over 12months but didn't see any obvious improvement--my hairloss continued and developed to level II, so 1 month ago I began to try minoxidil.

But now after 4 weeks' on minoxidil, now I find my hairloss is aggravating-yesterday I washed my hair and found over 200(perhaps 300) hairs at the bottom of the basin. I wash my hair 3 times a week so I think this is a terrible news. And I can see a clear M taking shape at my temple in the past month.

The doctor did tell me that the some people would lose more hair than usual in the first month applying minoxidil and new hairs would grow up soon. But still I am worrying about the terrible speed of the hairloss: what if the new ones don't appear? Future improvement from minoxidil is uncertain while I do see minoxidil causing much more serious hairloss--I believe I'm between level II and III now.

Do you have ever had same experiences after applying minoxidil? When will my new hair grow up? And when should I stop minoxidil if it is proved to cause hairloss only? Anybody know the answer please help

Current regimen:
1) Propecia, 1mg/day;
2) minoxidil,5%,2ml/day (1ml/time)

3) Nu-hair, a electronic medical device treating hairloss, looks
like a helmet

I'm not great with English, so I don't know If I've made myself clear enough. And I apology if any my words sound impolite.

Any advice would be highly appreciated

Thass minoxidil shedding...Dont worry..It will last for a while and then stop followed by regrowth of the lost hair ( more thicker ) + some extra regrowth...so just get through it

your english is perfect, and the nu-hair is a rip off.

hair grows in cycles. 85-90% is growing, 1-2% has the bulb shrinking, and 9-14% is just sitting in the follicle ready to fall out, or already has fallen out, while waiting for a new hair to replace it. I think minoxidil helps all these resting hairs fall out, especially if you rub it in. people on here think the growing hairs under go a change and fall out, but I'm skeptical. I read that balding men may have 25% of their hairs in this rest cycle, so that is a lot of resting hair that can fall out, giving a worse asthetic effect, but it gets replaced.

hmmm... but if my belief were true, they'd always fall out sooner and the 10-14% would be empty all the time. So it might be growing hairs falling out. I don't know. i never got a shed.

Do you mean that 10-14% of the lost hairs caused by minoxidil would not be replaced by new ones? If it's true that would be a bad news. :( Should I continue with minoxidil? What's your adivice?

As to the Nu-hair, my father has a perfect bald for over 10years. He uses that device for 4 months and I can see obvious regrowth on his head now. So it must have some effect.

My hairloss is currently at level II. The aesthetic problem is not very serious. Most people around me can not notice that I'm having a shed.

So if minoxidil would really cause 10-14% of my hair losing forever I must stop applying it. :(

Give minoxidil 6-12 months. u have to give time for these treatments to kick in. it´s a shame about the propecia, but if you´re not having any side effects, i´d recommend u keep taking it cause it might get worse without it. lastly, the shedding is part of the treatment and again, u have to go it lots of time. just remember that in most cases, the shedding means it´s working! good luck!
p.s. your english is perfect
