I'm trying to grow my hair out and right now I'm at the stage where I can pull it back into a ponytail ,it'd be kinda tight which i know isn't good to do, but I'm kinda in the awackaward in between stage and I'm thinking it might last maybe 1, 2 mts at the most until I'm past it, and I thought if I could pull it back it'd not only look better but help my hair and growing it out in this difficult stage, I think it might be easier on my hair then parting it everyday as i do and have for years.
I'm starting to thin in the front and receed a lil it doesn't really look bad or receeded to much when I pull it back unless im under direct light or u get right in my face and look directly at my hairline, i think personally from all the years of parting it, it's going on about 9 yrs of parting it and I know pulling it back will cause the hairline to receed but my q is wouldnt that take a long time? I mean look at Shawn Michaels he is thinning in the front and receeding but he's been pulling his hair back probably daily for years, same with RVD but he has no recession at all, luckily for him, but do you think if i pulled it back a few times a week for like 6 hrs or so while I'm at work until i get past this stage would i be doing damage to it? I think it'd make it easier on my hair not only not parting it, but ill be traing my hair to be combed back on it's on without automactically falling into a part after a few seconds as mine does, that's how I'd like to wear it always when it gets long enough, just comb it back adn not even pull it in a tail but as i said im still a few mts. from that
Anyway, what are you guys' opinions on this and what would be my best route to go?

Personally, when i watch WWE Raw, and Shawn Micheals is on, i can't see past his receeding temples. It looks shitty if you ask me. Infact, these days, i examine all those guys for signs of male pattern baldness, lol...

Rock
Undertaker
Kurt Angle, Goldberg & Stone Cold obviously
Christian
Chris Benoit
Shane O' Mac

list goes on and on...

In asnwer to your Q, no i don't think tieing your hair back will damage your hair...but dht will

yeah, hbk's hair is awesome other then the front recession but he works around it somehow, i'd like my hair to be like his minus the recessiong but that won't happen, goldberg has no recession or thinning, why would u shave ur head with a full head of hair i dont know, stone cold used to have hair and it was receeding actually i got my current hairstyle from his old one. i just dont understand why michaels dont get surgery in the front but i dont know

I've never seen him up close, I suppose it's possible. He keeps that sh*t tight, I've never seen it grow out enough to tell either way.

It seems to me in order to pull off the shaved look you need to be muscular, damnit now I have to renew my gym memebership.

shawn michaels got a hair transplant ...so did mark callas (undertaker)....i've met shawn michaels once,, at a signing. he had a hat but i saw him take it off and you could see his scalp..nothing like it is now..he either got a transplant or hair weave sewn in..rvd has natural hair. if you have male pattern baldness, doing that to your hair will accelerate hair loss.. if you don't have male pattern baldness, it won't do much damage

Undertaker must have gotten a bad hair transplant, because he's receeded like hell right now, as of No Mercy a few days ago.He wears a scarf on his head in the ring to cover it up...

he got it on his crown mostly...i remember he had a bald spot there. and when they do transplants, that's how they do it. so it looks natural in the front.
