Would scalp acne cause permanent follicular damage?

I get a lot of pimples in the back of my head and sometimes crown, I'm just wondering if the constant appearence of acne could cause scarring to the follicles and essentially kill them.

I tried everythong from anti-dandruf shampoo to only using shampoo once a week. I even apply Clindoxyl to the affected area (even though it says I can cause bleaching). My retarded family doctor said it's "normal" and could be caused by a lot of thing (skin type, hormones, etc.), b**ch didn't even check and quickly dismiss my problem.

Also, I can't get a dermatologist without a referal from a family doctor so that's not even an option. f*** socialized communist healthcare, can't even do my own medical decisions.

Might be folliculitis, look into the subreddit.

You could try out benzoylperoxide as a treatment.

It helped me a lot with my inflamed, red, itchy scalp and pimples on scalp. I even had bald spots that looked similar to alopecia areata because of large inflamed pimples.

I wont lose this

I've got the same problem. Sometimes it goes away for a few weeks then returns with everything it can offer (pain, itchiness, redness). Stretching washings didn't help, if anything it made things worse.

Clindoxyl contains 5% of Benozyl Peroxide and I apply it, but it sometimes comes back. Doesn’t seem like it helps

Have this as well. For years and same fear of permanent issues. I took oral antibiotics and they did some damage. I’ve seen many high end dermatologists and they don’t have an answer. Clindamycin foam, some betamethasome to ease swelling. Only thing that helps is a Keflex cycle and it kills stomach etc. I get multiple large cysts in an outbreak too, back, and sides. Worried that as I age, thin this removes a short cut or bald look.

Yeap, I did take antibiotics too (Doxycycline 100mg for 2-3 months) and it did help while I was on it, but when I got off it the acne came back again. I get it constantly, for a few years now (I think it started in 2020). I’m worried that if this sh*t keeps going I’ll get permanent scars and have patchy *** hair since the follicles where the acne appear would die off.

Do you think it would be fungal? I get acne everywhere, even in my legs and arms, but I don’t remember ever having scalp acne before 2020.

Also, I get a ton of acne right after I cut my hair even when I clean the tools with alcohol.

Same issue. Please become aware of your food sensitivities. (Plenty of tests you can buy online that will reveal hidden foods that cause these breakouts). Tomato sauce, oregano, red pepper, etc. was some of my hidden ones. Also sugar and flour can result in a firestorm of inflammation and breakouts. I used to have this and was in a constant cycle of breakouts and then medicated shampoo to accelerate healing - but now im able to avoid altogether.

Did those patches grew back? It seems I have a patch due to either the pimple/acne or the clindoxyl I was applying to
