I have just created my first album- and would appreciate you guys taking a look. It is 12 years of photos. From the beginning of my vertex/crown male pattern baldness at age 35.5 till today at 47.5
I went on finasteride after trying for 2 years of using minoxidil alone. At that time the male pattern baldness was just too aggressive. You should be able to see when the finasteride kicked in as it did a good job of taking control. But after a few years I got terrible sides and had to stop. I recovered, but never fully. At that point my male pattern baldness was controllable on minoxidil alone. Now a couple of years ago I started having other health issues and they were very much like finasteride sides-Anxiety depression. weight gain, no sex drive. Things kept getting worse-like it would take me hours to get ready for work. Also started having panic fears for illogical reasons. I could block out the depression, but not the anxiety. I finally went to the Dr and got something done about it. One issue they found was low Testosterone so they put me on replacement hormones. I now feel tons much better but after about 2 weeks on the treatment, my hair started falling out like crazy. It doesn't create hair loss but if you have the male pattern baldness gene it will certainly accelerate it. You should be able to see the fallout in the last few photos. As of about 2 weeks ago, the loss appears to have slowed down but who knows for sure.
My ? is this:
Would you risk finasteride again? After 5+ years of feeling terrible, would you take a chance? Part of me wants to, but part of me never wants to ever feel like death again. Also I am not 25 and I don't think it is considered as embarrassing for me to have some male pattern baldness as someone much younger.
So what would you do? ...Thanks...
