Lets say hypothetically their was a button you could press. This button would kill someone, some were in this world. Pressing this button would not affect you because the person who would die would not be a loved one or anyone close to you. so would you press the button for a full head of hair?

No. Wouldn't even do that sh*t for $1b, it's pathetic. It's the journey not the destination.

Since we're doing Sci-Fi plots....

For a full head of hair, would you give up the real world and live full time in a virtual world?

You would be hooked up though a neural interface with your nervous system so the world would appear to be completely real. You could look like and be *anyone* you wanted, but it would all be a simulation.

Your real physical body would be floating in a tank somewhere, wasting away.

You mean if you could be completley omnipotent? Yeah I'd do that in a heartbeat (if it felt 100% totally real to you).
But in that situation hair would be totally irrelavent anyway. IMO you'd be crazy not to.

Given a choice between being in your virtual body and your real body, you will choose your virtual body every time. Therefore, your biological body will become irrelevant.

At the same time, technology will be advancing. A variety of research efforts will be creating the ability to house your brain – just your brain – in a small container that will keep it in perfect environmental conditions. A number of companies will be advertising Brain Storage Facilities, where your brain and thousands of others are stored in hardened steel and concrete buildings that are impervious to bombs, earthquakes, hurricanes and so on.

[...]

After the transfer is complete, your brain will awaken from the anesthesia and you will find yourself back in your virtual world. You will continue your life in your virtual body, enjoying your virtual existence just as you were doing when your brain was housed in a biological body. However, your brain will now be in one of the safest places on earth, and it will be able to live far longer than it ever could have inside a biological body.

People kill other people with their actions indirectly all the time.
Leaving the hair question, because it's just emotional blackmail, how many of you stop to think the repercussions of your daily life on others?

If a mysterious benefactor approached me and gave me the choice between becoming extremely bald and maintaining a greasy combover on a NW7 scalp but I would be a billionaire as long as I kept the greasy ridiculous combover

or

Having incredibly thick fantastic NW1 hair but just being middle class

I would take the baldness and the billions :woot:

Forget the Billions, how about NW7 and you can shave it earning £100k a year or NW1 earning £25k a year?

wow i'd take the hair and lesser salary.

i guess baldness its't as bad as it is for you guys compared to me.

I guess it depends on how good you look with it, some of us aren't passable for "human" with no hair :sobbing:

I think if you ask any guy on the street, hair of no hair, they would pick the money.
People do crazy stuff for money, going around with a naked scalp for the rest of your life seems very tame.

yeah but what's the point in earning a lot of money when 95% of girls will reject you because you look like E.T. (I looked like E.T, im not saying other bald people look like E.T.)

so what im saying is id rather work at mcdonalds and be NW1 for life, than be a doctor NW7.

this is mainly becuase i look sooo bloody bad bald every women would be like "no thank you" despite anything else I have,

and EXTRA money doesn't bring happiness, working normal job is ok for me.

even if i had a flashy car i'd still look like E.T., so what's the point, nothing could get rid of that insecurity, if you get me.

i mean UCman looks ok bald, he looks cool for a bald guy.

that's not me unfortunetly.

for me, being bald is like living in hell.

i guess i would be bald and take the money if i was average height and looked ok bald, but not at his height of 5 4 and looking like E.T.

i basically go around looking like i came off a sci-fi film set being my natural self!

i think most people look ok bald, but not as bad as i did.

so what im saying is , yes most people would maybe choose that for money, becuase they would look "ok" bald and maybe be normal-ish height.

It almost comes across as if your only measurement of success is how women react to you... its not a very smart strategy to base your self-gratification upon perspective of other people of you.

Depends on what kind of money, and the position of power.

There is a reason why there is a sub-culture in Mexico that idolizes drug lords.
A lot of them grew extremely poor and not exactly "conventionally attractive". Now they have money, power and hot women.

Yes, I know all of that is artificial, but the majority of people don't grow up idolizing McDonald workers
