So I came across this in a post by @worm .
Did a little search and it seemed to be the talk of the town back ten years ago mainly on HLH. A lot of guys claimed maintenance. A few with (seemingly temporary?) regrowth.
A guy named joe gave this open formula on his website and you can buy your own ingredients to make it at home.

He also came up with a whole series of formulas over the years (super zix, super zix II, ...)
Study has it that zinc and b6 works agains 5AR (mainly type I):

However, study also has it that prolonged use of zinc might be detrimental to scalp and follicle by preventing the repairing of skin and depleting copper :

The zix trend seems to have become silent after so many years.
If you used or are still using zix, please update us on your experience.
Chiming a little late here, Ive been using a zinc/b6 mix called "zix" for over ten years and it's helped me maintain most of my hair since I quit finasteride 11 years ago - you make it yourself from vitamins I bought on amazon.
Zinc Sulfate and B6 p5p with ethyl alcohol (70%), very important to use "ethyl alcohol. I use plus pharma zinc, and ecological formulas b6 (in tablets). you may be able to find a better source of b6 though.
I just bought some azelaic acid from ebay to step up it's effectiveness.
I cant emphasize enough how much this helped me control my hair loss.
just google zix hair - I use the original zix
Cheers
