hello
25 years old suffering from DUPA
i spent the last two months reading hairloss forums like a crazy, but i think i'm up to date when it comes to hairloss in general.

but the thing that's very strange is DUPA, basically all people who started a treatment never came back to post their results. so i have no idea about it.

the doctor who wrote in the litterature about it is saying that 50% of DUPA sufferers can be helped with finasteride.

i started 5 days ago 0.25 mg of finasteride, so far having that famous ball slight pain and that's it.

i'm just curious if there is some DUPA sufferers here. what's working for you ?

the reason behind it could be very simple, we just need to find the commun thing between us and draw links.
it may be a diffuse Alopecia areata (autoimmune), or deficiency related.

as for hairloss in family, my mother have some kind of hairloss when she got older.

Hey dude unfortunately I have DUPA also. I guess for me it started close to a year ago (thinning all over) but it wasn't until two months ago that it got so bad that I started looking into it and actually got diagnosed with it. I'm not taking anything bc of the sides and stories from friends of mine about propecia. And yeah it sucks there's not a lot of stuff on dupa. I feel like I've exhausted every link. If you find something that helps in any way let me know

i just want what's the cause of it at least, so i can die in peace knowing what caused my hairloss.

anyway, i just saw some bald people walking outside and just swallowed another quarter pill.

The permanent sides are what worries me. Have read so much about people never recovering from them and how common it is. Even how you can be fine for 4 years and then get the sides.

Are you losing hair though or just thinning. For me, I was always thin but never really lost hair (even in the shower). Last couple weeks I'm losing up to 200 a day

how do you know that you're not losing hair in the shower ? try to wash your head into a closed sink and see.

i've always been losing my hair slowly, but i wasn't aware, now i know why my house is full of hair, it's not bodyhair like i thaught.

I meant before my DUPA kicked in I rarely lost hairs in the shower. I knew because it was just abvious. Now I touch my hair and I get 5-6. My actually biggest worry is knowing where it ends. Like does this keep happening fast until my entire scalp is bald because my hairs have become so thin around my head that they can't be surviving much longer

yes it sucks man. i was planning to take finasteride for 2 or 3 years to save some hair for potential new hair treatments.
now i don't have this option since it gives me brain problems.

DUPA sufferer here, I am trying nuclear options. Went in for a blood test, to see if dht is inhibited and t levels.

Also if its worth anything, my scalp was extremely extremely greasy. It was extremely uncomfortable. I would wash my head, and within 2 hours it would get oily. Shampoo would get it 6 hours. I begged doctors to look at it seriously, all they would do is write a shampoo or tell me it can't be helped. FFS. Only my current regime helped with that, so I'm grateful.

No thickening for me, but no hairfall either. So even if I don't get my hair back, I plan to continue for a peaceful scalp.

Hey sisen did you get any sides. And how long until the hair fall stopped. If I can keep what I lost(which is a lot) I would still be happy. I tried rogain a few years ago and it made my hair worse so I got off it. Any advice would be great

DUPA also Androgen related, there is no way around all this to avoid the use of finasteride, is rather jump on finasteride or lose hair, minoxidil will baerly slow down the process.
