Hey y'all, yearly check-in as usual. I started taking Finasteride 1mg back when there was no generic, sometime around 2011.

Started when I was ~23. I'm 35 now. No sides, never had any. Lost maybe a centimeter of frontal hair since then? I'm still NW2 like I was the day I started and honestly not even worried about it anymore. I'm not balding as long as I pop this every morning.

2013!!!

I'm open to any questions in next couple days before I fade back into the ether because hairloss is clearly not something I need to worry about anymore.

IMO, the narrative that finasteride "only works for a few years" or even "wears off after 10 years" is mistaken. And that's the main reason I come back every year. The sh*t works, at least much of time, for life. I'm living proof.

Doesn't work at all. Only for Lucky few. The rest of us needs to go on HRT to thicken up a single hair or maintain.

You maintained because you balding wasn’t aggressive and your family members were Norwood 4 max . If you were destined to be Norwood 5-7 you would not maintain

lol bro, you're just wrong. My brother is 1 year older and NW7. So is my dad. I was NW2 by 22 and losing ground fast. Check my post history, I been saying the same thing for 11 years.

I've been active on the forums since 2012. Go look. I know you won't because people like you dismiss anything they disagree with without a moment of consideration

Norwood 7? Like completely bald you said your brother was Norwood 4 and dad was Norwood 5
Yeah, that was probably a post from 6+ years ago. Both of them look like George Costanza

When did so many people on here turn into toxic assholes? I post a simple yearly update showing that, yes, finasteride is still working. And I get a deluge of people claiming I'm some kind of charlatan.

If you're just going to accuse me of being a liar and berate me don't bother replying. Don't take finasteride if you don't want to, nobody is forcing you to do it. You'll probably be rocking a chrome dome in a few years and I'll still be NW2 till I retire. Not my problem, take your anger elsewhere.

I'm definitely part of "big finasteride" shills. That $30 a year I pay for generic made in India gives them a huge shill budget

Dam wtf just curious why don’t you start microneedling or get a hair transplant to get a god tier hairline
To be honest, most guys my age have temple recession. I've considered a small hair transplant, but always backtracked when I realized most people consider NW2 a "full head of hair"

They'll never give me permission to do that. Why is it so hard to believe??? There's 10 year studies with hundreds of men showing finasteride stopped balding in over 80% of them.

This forum is full of finasteride haters. Logic left the room a long time ago.

That's unfortunate. I don't remember it being that way back when I was really active.

I assume since finasteride has become more mainstream those people have left the forums. I don't post anymore cuz I don't have a reason to, I'm not losing my hair anymore. Most finasteride users probably in the same boat

Most people don’t believe in Finasteride because a lot of people still lose hair on it . It’s rare asf to maintain with finasteride if you have aggressive balding genes

It's just not. In every study more than 80% of men on it didn't lose any more hair.

Same results with studies on dutasteride.

There's also a small number of men born with defective receptor finasteride blocks, and they also never lose their hair.

I'm convinced that 90% of guys on here that believe finasteride doesn't work it's just copium because they were too scared to get on it. Now they lost everything and have to convince themselves it never would have worked anyways, otherwise they have to deal with making a huge irreversible mistake.

I wasn’t too scared to try finasteride. I used it and it was an awful year and some recovery time once I quit. I’m the same age as you and have more hair, certainly not bald. I often see these posts with weak evidence. I don’t believe it’s possible to reduce DHT by 70% for 10 years and feel absolutely no side effects? Minor reduction in libido? No possible imo. I said I’d believe you if you posted a pic of your bro and dad. Cover their faces of course. I barely like my family but can’t escape one picture in 10 years lol
