I'm 16 years old I started noticing a receding hairline last year when I was under a huge acne crisis, I have improved my diet, been doing exercises, etc. and I barely have acne now
but I have a huge huge receding hairline

I have afro hair, i combed my hair backwards for this photo
(btw i had just showered, is not that easy to comb my hair backwards)

that is the left side, the right side doesn't look so bad

please help!

i think i have a similar hairline to yours and im 8 years older. Definitely much worse for a 16 year old. I feel sorry for you and I would continue to use minoxidil as it helped me with my temples but only slightly. Unfortunately i got dark under eye circles from it so had to stop using it.

Sucks man I'm sorry to hear about that. You're sure it's not just a mature hairline though? How's your dad's hair, did he lose hair young do you know?

Just trying to work out if it's purely genetic or not!

Yeah, I think this is just a mature hairline tbh. It is too early to tell if it is bona fide male pattern baldness yet.
Before doing any treatments I'd wait 6 months and compare (unless your hair obviously rapidly starts to fade).
Though it does seem quite common for people with relatively severe acne to go bald early too, perhaps something to do with androgen levels/sensitivity to androgens?

I dont think so, I've seen how it gradually worseness as time passes.

my dad lost most of his hair at age 45

I'm sure I'm balding, I need suggestions.
my hair is very thick, I can cut it really short and my scalp isn't visible but in the front part the hair is very thin, I've read this might be caused by hair breakage

So what are your suggestions?
is it easier to restore hair at my age?
any natural treatments or supplements?

thanks!

I believe there is a significant tie of male pattern baldness to health (personally), but as you're 16 I know this is unlikely.

I take it your health is like, totally fine? :)

too early to tell. start using nizoral, forget about it for a year. keep these photos. in a year, check back. if it's gotten much worse then maybe jump on finasteride, if not then a year of nizoral will of gotten rid of any worry of dandruff at least, lol

take care bro

I had been away for few days but I'm
back
first of, thanks for all the replies but I'm sure I'm losing hair
because;

I've seen how my hairline gradually reduces
The left side (the one in the photo) looks much worst than the right side it even hurts a lil bit

so I need some advice like

Vitamins I should take, should I try massages, will sports help me, should I start with nizoral or Minoxidil, please help, I'm tired of changing haircuts

I would say nizoral and minoxidil (rogaine). Can't reallly hurt, and it just might do some good. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take propefia (finasteride) yest!! You are too young to be screwing up your hormones. Your body is still needing DHT and stuff. Give it 3 years or 4 before you start with drugs.

start with nizoral, don't bother with scalp exercises. vitamins couldn't hurt (although they might give you constipation or something, lol). i'd say hold off on the finasteride, i didn't start til i a few days off 19. minoxidil looks pretty terrifying to me so i'd personally say don't get on that. but yeah, nizoral and then check on the situation every 6 months or so.

Ya, can't say I've ever heard somone say that minoxidil was terrifying and finasteride was all good. minoxidil is easy peasy, and overall more 'safe' than finasteride.

no need to be a dick, it's no coincidence that the 2 words following that phrase you quoted were 'to me'
ive seen ridiculous minoxidil sheds. thats all i was saying. also to a 19 year old guy with long hair the thought of a topical 2 times a day for the rest of my life? lot harder to wanna take than a pill once a day.

everyone gets their opinion. that's mine. i don't think minoxidil is bad i just personally am not ready for it. so that's what i said.

minoxidil is nothing to be afraid of, don't be ridiculous. minoxidil is chlld's play. Now finasteride is something to actually think long and hard about before taking.

fair dos. i know it's nothing as life altering, but the whole process of it puts me off. i guess that was what i meant by terrifying. just the prospect of it.
whatever, ignore me lol.

Did you take accutane?
nope

thanks for all the replies I will buy nizoral or minoxidil depending on which is cheaper or easier to get

I have afro hair so it tends to break i thinks that is causing my hair to thin, any advices for that?
I have stopped using conditioner is this a good move?

again thanks for all the answers.

You might try Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is suppose to cleanse your scalp of DHT, and the conditioner is suppose to give it good body. I don't know that it does anything for hairloss, but I think it does a good job on my hair. I really like their conditioner.
