I have just started Nizoral shampoo and Regaine 5% for a receding hairline, shedding like CRAZY, bit worried but i'll ride it out for a few months. Thinking of Finasteride am i too young for it? maybe something like revivogen and topical spironolactone would be better, dont know how i'd use them with regaine aswell though. Any help would be brilliant.

never heard a thing good about ********* or revivogen. spironolactone is a good choice but comes with the slim possibility of sides. Don't go mad on stuff, go methodical so you know what works.

Good luck

What got censored then? and thanks for the info, I'm going to add saw palmetto, Zinc pills and an anti androgen and stick with them, I know its important to persevere with it. I was leaning towards spironolactone so i might have to give that a try.

With finasteride, the more hair you currently have when starting the better. I'd see a Doctor, and get a prescription if I could go back to being 18 and knew it existed.

Personally, I feel that 18 is a bit young to start messing with your hormones. Nizoral and Rogaine can help maintain what you have for now. See if you can put off finasteride for a few years or so.

A shed it normal when starting any hairloss product. I'd advise you to just ride it out. If it doesn't stop in 2-4 months, THEN I might be a bit worried. Take pictures of your hairline and crown so you can monitor your progress or regress.

I have asked my Doctor for a presciption and he said I should wait 6 months to see if it gets worse, which is strange because he even said it was male pattern baldness, I'm about a nw2 now. Im really considering it though, keeping my hair would be a dream, but having some of those sides is a nightmare. You can buy it online without a prescription?

I have heard from others it maybe too young, my hair loss is pretty agressive though, especially now from regaine its making my hairline & top worse I am living in the fear that it will just not stop shedding :p. But yeah heres a picture, you can see how aggressive it is here

yeah u have aggressive male pattern baldness. If you think you are going to be extremelly depressed by it then go and see your doctor and talk to him about finasteride. See what he says. I say this cos you don't have the luxury of time to be messing around with unproven meds. Sorry to be so brutally honest.

Best of luck

Can you buy it online without a prescription? need to know before i go back and beg him because he didn't give me one last time i went. Cheers for the help :)

If you have a credit card, try buying from United Pharmacies. If your in the US, buy Rogaine in the stores and start applying it already beforehand, 2 times a day. Wish you the best of luck man!

Yes, you can get it online with a script, and yes, that's pretty aggressive for 18. I would talk to a doctor, AND I would get bloodwork done. There is about a 99.95% chance that you won't get long-term sides...but if it were to happen, then you would need something as a baseline that you could try to re-attain. Expect the best, but plan for the worst...just in case.

Cut regaine down to 1x daily, was shedding simply too much and its easier to just use it at night, doctors tommorow going to see about a blood test and propecia, bit scared of taking it, but lifes about risks. Wish me luck.
