Dude, incredible progress. You actually look like a NW1. Could be the angle -- NW1.5 worst case scenario. Amazing results

cheers biggie/username!

I'm not anywhere close to an NW1. I'm actually somewhere between NW2 and 3, but closer to 2, the side shots can be a bit deceptive, my hairline looks much better from side/90 degree angles. Pictures from the front or at 45 degree angles show the full extent of my hair loss.
My hairline is a bit like Tom Hiddleston's as Loki

I have enough now that I can pull off lots of long styles/medium length styles, but I can't do short styles or slicked back/tied back tight styles like a man bun

You look more like a regular NW2 imo, but I don't know where your juvenile hairline was so its hard to say.

A little more than an NW2, but closer to NW2 than NW3. Definitely NW2 class, but the edges of my hairline sharply drop off rather than extending to the sides of my head. Head shape makes it look a little worse.

Cheers BeardedOne! How are you holding up these days? IIRC you were a dense NW3 or so to start with? You're probably an NW2 by now!

I don't think you have lost that much hair at the hairline tbh. Just falls off at the sides as you say. It just appears more profound due to head shape/forehead, temple bone structure - which you have mentioned before.

Some younger pictures like when you were 18 would be interesting.

Unfortunately I've had long hair since I was 17, and always wore it down. I literally have no photos that actually show my hairline past the age of 16, last time I cut it super short. I wish I had something to compare it to. I swear, some days I think my hairline looks like ****, and other days I think it looks okay. Usually dry hair looks best, wet, greasy or gelled looks like crap. I actually find minoxidil when dry, dries my hair out, and dry hair actually has more volume than conditioned hair. Since I stopped using conditioner, it looks much better. I really want to pull of the man bun look though, it doesn't look good with my hairline :(

Unfortunately I've had long hair since I was 17, and always wore it down. I literally have no photos that actually show my hairline past the age of 16, last time I cut it super short. I was actually super self conscious about my forehead even in my teens, always thought it looked far too big, wide and flat, so always hid it with a fringe/bangs/long hair.

I feel you GoldenMane, I always wore my hair over my hairline so I have nothing to compare it to.

How long was your period when your hair looked sparsely thin to gaining density? It seems like a radical change in density - especially from the thinning picture from the top view from your aerial shot.

I'd say between 4 and 6 months was when I gained the most density. Since then it's been up and down a bit depending on shedding phase, which I still get sometimes. Definitely between month 3 and 6 saw the biggest improvement. I think switching to 10 '% minoxidil also improved things a little more. Nothing drastic but subtle thickening. You know 17 is the legal age in most countries right?

You're very lucky to great this result , Congratulations .

You've got most of your hair back in the front/ density.

Good luck.

Really? Damn, that's pretty young! Actually i think some US states are even younger...

Cheers Parsia, I was very lucky I started when I did. I saw in your topic you recently started 15% minoxidil? I've just got some too, best of luck man, hopefully we both get stronger regrowth on 15% minoxidil, lets treat this as a proper experiment, not much documentation on this site on 5% vs 15% minoxidil results. For what it's worth, after 4 months on 10% minoxidil, I have noticed a subtle but significant improvement in my hairline thickness.

Thank you man , yes I have started 15 % minoxidil and because there wasn't enough documented result about that I put myself in a trail , So I do that for myself and
community to dedicate if there is any result , thats why I put the hold on many items on my list to see if minoxidil 15 % works or not ( I know those items bring me regrowth in some degree regarding couple months of my research ) ... and believe me its very hard to control my temptation and do not add those items.

It's a smart approach, additive, giving each treatment time to show what it's doing, that way you can somewhat gauge the contribution of every element of your regimen. If you throw everything at it at once, you'll never know what to attribute your results to, and may end up wasting money on treatments that may or may not be making any difference, and you will never know what is safe to drop, and what you need to keep. I understand the temptation. I 'm tempted to hold off on 15% minoxidil for now, give 10% more time. I think by 6 months, it should be clear if a treatment is having any effect.

It's good to add stuff one by one as you say. Yes 16 is young, in some countries it's younger. I think it should be 18 in all honesty. That's when it feels okay for me personally.

Yes sir , You've got my point , Avoiding wasting money , know if it has side effect or not and also track the result to advice other people as well.

Thats why I am here, to share my little knowledge and get knowledge . 6 months mark would be enough for each treatment to see if it does

anything or not , Specially when you are on other treatments too , I would say at 4 months the result could be start but 6 months the best timeline.

Although some people believe give every treatment one year , but I can't wait this much ! sorry.

but I can't do short styles or slicked back/tied back tight styles like a man bun

its better that way, full grown man buns are cool, but the style with that little pig tail hair bun and everything else shaved is nasty af, being in college, its pretty common.
