Right. For anyone actually interested in my posts I have finally booked an appointment with my gp about hairloss, boy was it nerve wracking to spit the words out when booking...

Anyway, hopefully now I can actually post progressive and meaningful content to show anyone and gain some results! (fingers crossed).

I have ordered some Nizoral and a sample of Toppik to test it for the crown haha.

Got a few more pictures of my hair before washed and waking up, along with a normal everyday style I have.

-- If someone could give feedback on my situation now and if the thinning on the temples you can see and crown can be filled in by finasteride? The hair is going but not lost just super thin as you can see! --

Cheers dudes!

It sounds like you're in denial about the whole thing, waiting for it to one day stop. Here's the truth. Your hair will continue to get worse, day by day until you actually stop just watching it and start doing something about it.
Go to your GP and get Finasteride. Take Finasteride a year and ascertain whether it works for you. Nearly guaranteed you will fill a lot of your crown in and improve your hair considerably. Nizoral (use it in conjunction with finasteride though) and Toppik aren't going to save you... They together will simply mask the problem. The only way to actually stop it is to treat the cause and Finasteride is the best thing currently available. End of story.

If you decide to just continue to post, saying 'it's not that bad' and looking for reassurance for another year, your hair will become even worse and you will have less results if you do start treatment then. I cannot stress enough that it is important to get on treatment AS SOON AS YOU NOTICE male pattern baldness. If you had just taken finasteride when the first poster suggested it, you'd likely be enjoying a full head of hair instead of torturing yourself with picture updates while you watch your hair fall out. Seriously man, how else can we get through to you?

Right going to get my act together. I have got Nizoral, used it twice so far.

It says use every 3 days or so for 2
-4 weeks. Do I follow that or do other people have recommendationsns

I put not too much on but it felt like it didnt lather up very much. Should I just apply more or is little better?

Last question before I see my GP next week and hopefully start finasteride, are there any other things I need or should change to try and improve my hairloss. Supplements? Topicals? Diet? Excersise? I mainly want to improve my horrible crown and thinning on temples as there is still hair there but soon will be gone.

Cheers.

Good choice getting started with real treatments. Remember that your first few months may be slow or it may appear like they are not working. But you want to hold out, I guarantee that after 4-6 months you will see the beginning of improvement.

You can use as little as is required to massage into your roots. You can rotate it with a regular shampoo every second day so you don't end up with over dry hair.

I mean, there are some correlations between diet, supplements and hairloss. But the only thing that will address the cause of your male pattern baldness is the finasteride.

My advice would be to eat a healthy diet, keep up the exercise (mainly for the sake of being healthy and reducing stress) and start with finasteride and nizoral. Once you've been on the treatment long enough to ascertain whether it's working you can add in the topical Minoxidil which will aid in growing hair in both the temples and on top. So I'd say consider that after 6-12 months. Again, keep in mind it can cause initial shedding before it does work, you have to be patient and stick through the downs.

Good luck man, I think you'll be happy you did this in a year's time.

I feel as if the Nizoral has made my scalp so much less itchy! Happy with that so far and dandruff is clearing already.

However, went to my GP today and they said they can't do anything for me, so do I need to go somewhere private and what do I say? Would this cost a lot to and do I actually need to see a GP for a prescription of finasteride?

That's just not true, you can maybe hold your status on finasteride BUT new hairs is very very rare on Finasteride, just 2 % have an amazing recovery from finasteride only.

What is away is away the only option then is a hair transplant.

I'm the same age as you with roughly the same amount of hair loss minus the crown. I have an appointment as well with a gp who's a dermatologist but I'm going to ask if they can do blood tests. I'm assuming you live in the UK. The best thing to do is just order online there's a few uk pharmacy's you'll have to fill out a form and get a prescription. Hopefully it all goes well and remember there's very promising treatments in the pipeline, mainly shesido and tsuji.

Cheers dude. Yeh I am in the UK so should I just order some online without a consultation from GP? What kind of blood test are you getting and message me with some pics of your hair if you want?

No pics for now but I started losing hair when I was 17 and a half so quite traumatic. I went to the GP a year and a half ago and at that time she didn't know about fiansteride, actually I imagine most of them wouldn't. But she didn't want to prescribe it me and said the same thing that it's not available on the NHS. I'd say get it from an online pharmacy but notify your family GP that you're on it and try and get blood tests if you can. I'm just going to try and get my testosterone and oestrogen levels checked. Like most posters said the longer you wait it out the worse it gets.

Before gettimg on finasteride just want to show some baseline images and of my true self and my hair style. If you can call it that .

I dont do anything with my hair but push it to one side as very bloody limited. My hair is thin, flat and has no volume so I keep it simple.

Anyway as you can see I am ugly, have a sh*t head shape, no jawline and will probably look like a male Jade Goodie before she died. RIP.

Any suggestions on what hairstyle to get whilst on finasteride or before?

lol you're not ugly at least from what I can tell. You're hair in the first pic looks alright

Oxford online pharamacy has it for £13 which is decent for 28 tablets. It's cheaper than rogaine I can tell you that much.

Is that where you get yours from and does it matter that it is not propecia?

I've not gotten mine yet, I'm going for a blood test next wednesday then I'm going to order. Propecia and fiansteride is the same thing just a difference in branding I think but the active ingredient is actively the same. Simply put propecia is finasteride if that makes sense

I feel like I am not getting much help regarding where to purchase finasteride from in UK. Cheapest and reliable place would be helpful. Please reply before I lose ground as I have decided to go for the drug.

alldaychemist is about as cheap as you can get. I ordered my finasteride and dutasteride from them, when I decided to switch. Not sure if they ship to the UK.

Ok do you need a prescription? It says 25 pounds for a prescription or how do I get one privately? Also should I visit a hair specialist before or not?
