23, is it already time to see a dermatologist?

Shedding miniaturized hairs is good, it's a sign that you're losing unhealthy hairs, hopefully they'll grow back thicker and stronger. Wouldn't expect to see results from finasteride till you've reached nine months of treatment at least though, unless you're a super responder. I'm nearing that mark for finasteride and I still think most of my improvement was due to Minoxidil, Finasteride may have caused some thickening though.
Nah I'm no super responder else I'd have results by now, but we'll see. I really hope it's working, I'm tired of this balding stuff.

Any pics of your hair? What’s your baseline like
Nah, I don't post pics of my hair. I'm NW2-3 (basically what is considered 3) with thinning, especially between the forelock and midscalp, like you see in NW4, and the recession is curving inwards.

I'm close to the one year mark for Minoxidil, about a month or two from the one year mark for 1 mg of Finasteride thrice a week, and about five or six months away from the one year mark for 1 mg of Finasteride five times a week. Still think most of my density gains were due to Minoxidil because I've been using it for my facial hair all this time too and I used to have zero hair on my cheeks and neck and now have to shave every other day and will get a scruffy hobo beard if I don't shave for more than ten days. Will end up with a unibrow if I don't pluck my eyebrows every two weeks. Minoxidil also tends to show results faster too.
Zero problems with this regimen so far. Will get another blood test done in a month or two once I'm at the one year mark for 1 mg of Finasteride thrice a week.
As usual, I'll be leaving pictures under average and harsh lighting for comparison. Feel free to leave your opinions and thoughts here. I am currently shedding a similar amount of hair to when I wasn't on any treatments, but my hair is longer than usual too so I don't know if it is from a shedding phase or due to longer hair. It seems to be in a better shape than my starting point though so I am not worried.

Definitely a great responder and success story. You have significantly improved.

Wanted to give another update since it's been over a month already. Think I've already reached the one year mark for 1 mg finasteride thrice a week. Got my blood work results and everything seems to be normal except for a Vitamin D deficit, but I'll be taking them to my GP next month anyway. Got a haircut a couple days ago, but I don't really have anything new to comment hair wise. Leaving pictures here for comparison in case anyone's interested. As usual, pictures of my hair under average lighting go first, and you can see the pictures of my hair under bright lighting afterwards. Nowadays it is hard to notice any thinning at the front under average lighting but I wanted to leave some pics for comparison.

Just another BBD that didnt need finasteride or minoxidill.
What makes you think so? I see a clear improvement at the front and some regrowth at the temples when you compare my first two posts before starting any treatments to today, and my hair was way longer back then too. Also saw frontal thinning and miniaturization at the hairline after I shaved my head and it grew back unevenly. Was happy to be a good responder but sad to find out that my assesment was sadly true.

I'll be getting a haircut today, will probably post another update next week.

As promised, here's an update after getting a haircut. I don't see much of a difference to be honest, wanted to give an update in case anyone was interested. My hair is longer in this one because I got my haircut done by a rookie barber and I told him to leave it longer to make things easier for him.

Hopefully my temples regrows as much as your front hair.

Great results btw, at first I didn't know if you were thinning at the front since you took the pictures with a potatoe, but now that I compared them to now after finasteride and minoxidil I can now see that you were indeed thinning.

Congrats mate they’re some solid results. What form of minoxidil are you taking.. topical or oral?

Hopefully you'll get some good results. Trying something such as tretinoin, a derminator or microneedling with something such as a 12 pin Dr Pen Ultima A6 if you're using topical minoxidil might help to get that regrowth, since it's usually harder to get regrowth at the temples.

Yeah my hair had been getting harder to style like a year before I posted here. Finally accepted I was thinning after I shaved my head and noticed how my hair took longer to grow at the front, and also when I saw those miniaturized hairs at the closeups.

Thanks mate, I use topical, your typical liquid Minoxidil because foam is very expensive and hard to get here. There's a high alcohol, low Propylenglycol Minoxidil solution I use in the morning because it dries in 40 minutes or less and your typical high PG, low alcohol Minoxidil I use a few hours before going to sleep.

How is that also effecting your beard then? Do you just apply it all over and how much does it cost you month to month..
