Dupa is exactly what i have and i didnt even know the name.

My crown are is perfect but my sides and the front are starting to thin, seems not to be the classic male pattern baldness pattern in which the crown thins very agressively.

Fina could help in theory because its still an androgenic/ hereditary condition related with DHT shrinking follicules.
I will start taking it and see how i react to it.
What about the back of the head? What confirms DUPA is thinning at the donor area.

He used a dermatoscope yes. He was probably able to see the folicule minituariziation althought at this point its not very noticable in general looking at my hair-

I have actually had people IRL point out my hair was thinning/ i was starting to get hair loss and i was still in denial.

This even happened in a date once and i said it was just my hair whorls. And to be honest it was a weird thing to mention in a date anyways by the other guy:/
Well, all man are counscious about hair in some degree. I talk about it with every guy I know lol. But yes, mention it during a date is weird.

I think my back still looks OK . I was mostly hit on the sides and front
So it's probabbly not DUPA, just diffuse thinning. Altought a can see a scalp line in the middle of the back of your head. But I think that's normal since you have straight hair.

My thinning on the back is easily visible while pushing it backwards

I have thinning starting to happen undenearth my hair and its not jus the hair part, if i raise my hair its noticable . Thats what my dermatolgist prolly noticed as well.
Hope the fina can slowdown or stop this process pretty much.

Good luck bud. I’m sure you’ll make great progress from here. You still have a very good head of hair and will continue to do so with treatments. I notice topical finasteride with minoxidil also becoming more widely available now also. Plenty of options.
Thank you .

Its always very difficult to distinguish between actual thinning and normal scalp that is visible due to colour contrast. Lighting and camera flash exposure exaggerate the true situation.

As you’re 27 and still have what looks like a full head of hair, I suspect your treatment regime will work really well. If your balding was very aggressive, you would have far less hair by now.

Did your Dad this at the front?

My dad is like norwood 4 or 5 right now . Bald spot at the vertex and the hairline receeded a lot , also his hair thinned a bunch.
But for his age his hair is not that bad . He is not completly bald atm

Not a bad position to be in at middle age, as hair loss becomes commonplace in men as they age.

However you have caught yours early so if you want, you can keep your hair for life.

Im doing finasteride 3x a week . I saw that 3x a week would be enough in the hair loss show on youtube.

But i might just do 1x a day like my dermatologist prescribed .

Also have read that the nizoral keta shampoo has some anti androgenic properties . Will order some online.

Not really worried about fina sides tbh . There is zero scientific non anedoctal evidence of long term post discontinuation finasteride side effects.

If your hair looks like mine you will most likely be fine . My dermatologist said im still norwood 1 . If i keep using finasteride regularly i will be able to slow it down a lot at least.

Androgenic alopecia responds well to anti androgens usually.

Well right now I'd say i'm a NW1.5 heading to a NW2 on right temple. But the diffuse thinning in the forelock is similar to yours.

In some angles you can see the thinning on the vertex too.

I have become a bit neurotic over it . At least im on treatment now .

But yeah covid plus androgenic alopecia diagnosis from a dermatologist have sent my mental health spiraling.

Don't worry buddy, we all have these problems and our mind makes things a million time worse. What we see with our own eyes is often far worse than what other people see.

As I mentioned before, you still have a very good head of hair and treatments work very well on the crown / vertex area. I'm very confident that your hair will become more dense in that area once the treatments have time to work.

Stick with the finasteride. I wouldn't even touch minoxidil untill you absolutely have to or need more growth. I think finasteride will thicken your hair back ALOT. Give it time, could take a year or more for several hair cycles. Good luck.
