Hawaii male i would just like to say i totally respect your determination and conviction towards the wonderful drug finasteride and wish you the best in overcoming your troubles.

FYI to anyone reading and considering Propecia, I have been taking Propecia for 2+ years with virtually no sides. Maybe my tits are a little bigger, but i don't mind. They will look especially better when i start working out. My balls hurt sometimes but not for very long.

i have no reason to susspect it was propecia, i got a bacterial infection, which is common in young men...
in any of the trials, there have been no reporting of increased urinary, epididymis, prostate infections...

Interesting you mention that, 'cause others say that those kind of infection at a young age are NOT common.......I guess that I'll be doing some more research on the topic and I'll post my results.

Right now the only thing that is stopping me to go on finpecia is these stories of bacterial infections of the prostate I am hearing about. The idea of having blood in my semen scares me a lot honestly. BUT, as I mentioned before when I did a research over the web I found zero correlation between FINASTERIDE and bacterial infections of the prostate, except when is come cases FINASTERIDE is actually USED to cure the infection...go figure.

Now, I want to research how common is for young males to get bacterial infections of the prostate.

Nonbacterial prostatitis and prostatodynia, which is also called chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS), are the most common diagnoses. I think the message is pretty clear: it is very common for young males to get this condition. Now, here's the most interesting part:




"Finasteride may be prescribed for men with prostatitis (especially chronic prostatitis/pelvic pain syndrome, inflammatory), who also have moderate symptoms of prostate enlargement." (YAHOO HEALTH)




In no way I want to say that those who are under Finasteride and had prostatitis are lying, BUT, we also must make reasearch in order to see how probable IS that finasteride is the actual cause of such problems.

well, stats are its a 1 in 1000 thing, but more common in younger males (which was what i meant)

It can also be from an STD as well, which i know i didn't have, but still, probably why more common in younger males... who are the same people to take finasteride and get bacteria problems...

but blaming the drug on bacterial infections has no scientific basis

yes, you can take it indefinitely, and you have to if you want to keep your hair

In the past 3 to 4 days I had 0 sexual urges, zero, mainly because of a fever a few days ago, BUT I can guarantee you that if I was on Propecia, I would be freaking out by now and blame this on the pill....you know what I mean ?

We do not realize it but we have moments of low testosterone in many occasions, but we do not pay attention to it 'cause we are busy. BUT, when you are on a pill that you know can cause such simptoms, we are overanalyzing any hormonal changes, and if one occurs while on the medication, we freak out. Once you freak out, now you are fighting a psychological enemy, and we all know that most cases of impotence are psychological.......

I am not on any topicals currently. Soon I will start using copper peptides (perhaps folligen or tricomin). Try using maybe Dr Lee's or Proctors minoxidil's. Also use spironolactone would be maybe a good addition.

Ive never used any topicals , but if I had to this would be my list.

1. spironolactone ( or some DHT inhibitor)
2. minoxidil - from either Dr. Lee or Proctor
3. Copper Peptide (Your choice)
4. Nizoral 2%
