Images taken during my second procedure can be found here:

Warning - they are graphic and show blood, along with needles and knives being used on human flesh (mine).

Cheers Shma :)

I'm now 36 hours post-op and really feeling "funky"; I'm half way through that stage where you can't wash your hair and my shower is calling out to me quite loudly...

Heh, I just noticed that my first post here was a week over six years ago :)

Do I win a prize?

No prize, except for most improved hair. Congrats. :)

I don't know how anyone here could say that high estrogen causes
someone to lose hair. It's pretty clear that low testosterone and high
estrogen grows hair. Is re-growth like what you've seen typical of
transsexuals on HRT or are you an outlier?

Obviously your treatment regime is not usable for the guys here.

Cheers Casperz,

I'm quite typical, perhaps pushing the boundries on age as most of my hair was lost ten or more years prior to starting treatment, hence the transplants.

I'm reasonably sure that if I had been confident enough to start treatment five or six years earlier I would not have needed any transplants.

And you're right about my regimen being unsuitable for most posters here, though I do get quite a few private messages from lurkers who have issues more inline with my own. Forget gyno, you'll need a bra if you start down this path :)

Quick hair transplant update; I'm approaching the six month mark and not really seeing as much* definite* regrowth as I would have expected, I hate this waiting game :)

I might contact Dr. Rogers, I'm sure I had more / quicker re-growth than this on my first procedure.

Re: 6+ Year TS Progress - NW5 to full(ish) head of hair

Ok, so it's six months on since my second hair transplant and I'm starting to feel better about it. I still don't think it's regrown as quickly as the first, but perhaps I'm being paranoid.

I've updated my site with some new raw images, I'll post a couple here too.

As I've moved home since my last progress images, all new reference images will be taken in my bathroom where I have strong overhead lighting so it will give a good "worst case" harsh light reference.

These were also taken with no product in my hair, so are pretty much untreated "bed hair" images. All I've done is some light brushing to stop the fuzzy afro look :)

This is from the front, strong overhead light; gentle side parting to show some temple fill.

I hate this angle, it shows my high forehead and masculine eyebrow bossing, I might have a scalp advance when I get my face done. At least my hairline is getting has decent density now though; it's not quite grown out enough for a fringe but in another six months, well, we'll see...

main.php

Overhead shot, crown density is starting to see the benefits of the last hair transplant, though I don't think I'll be happy until I have another transplant.

The dreaded centre parting; the bane of the hair transplant. Actually, I'm really pleased with this; still some scalp showing through there, but considering this is without product and my grey roots are showing (badly) I don't think I can complain too much.

Finally, remember this guy?
It's when I look at this I put's things into perspective on the days where I'm feeling down about my hair; Thank you Propecia, thank you Dr. Rogers x

So there we go, my six month update of my six year restoration project after two hair transplants and a lot of nasty drugs.

I would really appreciate your feedback :)

Cheers guys, it's great to get positive feedback like this.

I do put a lot of energy into my career; billionaire might be pushing it a bit though do I plan a "comfortable" early retirement :)

Even as I child I would throw myself into one hobby after another, as I grew older it continued into work; it would help keep my mind off the fact I had the wrong body and a generally crazy late teens.

Excellent transformation Daniel!

Do you design your website your self too? Seems different from what I saw a while back.

I find it SO weird seeing pictures of you when you were a guy because I am just so used to you as a girl lol

It's an impressive transformation and I'm very pleased for you that you are enjoying this "new you"!

Mad thing is hair loss is preeeetty much the only thing that has ever made me dislike being a guy, I really don't like having lots of body hair either (I'm half Mediterranean (Italian and Maltese)) so very prone to body hair, and the reversal of an increase in body hair and a decrease in scalp hair is just HORRIBLE! >.<

But yeah, pleased for you and I know me and you have little disagreements and whatever but I have no hard feelings at all - hell it's just hair xD

Aww Hoppi :)

I've never let a thoroughly good disagreement get in the way of liking people; some of the best arguments I've ever had have been with my closest friends.

I do, it's in the middle of another overhaul. I'm separating the geeky tech stuff off into a new site and making my current blog just about me :)

Re: 6+ Year TS Progress - NW5 to full(ish) head of hair

I went to the salon yesterday to get my roots coloured and for a little trim; my stylist is great and he's been very interested in watching my hair recovery over the years.

Well yesterday, we both had a shock. It seems that the second transplant I had back in May is really starting to sprout, he was genuinely amazed at the progress just in the last few weeks.

Also, I experienced something that I never thought I would see again. My head, with soaking wet hair *AND* with conditioner all the way through it no-longer looks bald.

I had to take these photos right there in the salon, I could barely believe my eyes.

img00128201012031616.jpg

As many of you will know, wet hair + conditioner + strong salon lighting is never a good look for thin hair, so yesterday was completely unexpected. I didn't think I would ever have hair which looks fairly normal even when soaking wet again.

img00129201012031619.jpg

Seems there is still a little pinkness around the transplant area from May; it seems to have taken much longer to return to normal this time around, must be sings of ageing :)

img00130201012031619.jpg

This is an interesting angle. Most people will simply not see anything other than hair here, but if you look down below the temple area you can still see how much thicker my original hair which was never lost is. I don't think I'll ever see that density again, maybe with 50,000 graft, hair multiplication in the future.

One thing I keep thinking when I look at my pictures is that even with my hairline looking pretty decent, I still think I have too high a hairline.

Going by the average measurements for a female hairline, I'm bang on, but to my eye it looks like I have a massive forehead.

Maybe I should have a scalp advance before I have the final hair transplant? Feedback anyone?

I am very happy indeed, even had a little emotional episode in the hairdresser lol.

I'll be able to go swimming again and not feel self concious about my hair looking thin :)

Well I'm sure you know how I feel about Dr. Rogers, I know of his other patients too who have also had superb results. I've been trying to get them to post here, but you've seen how aggressive people can be against UK surgeons and even their patients.

That being said, I've always maintained that cost should be a secondary consideration when choosing surgeon for any treatment. Dr. Rogers really does give superb value for money, but if I felt I could have got better results from a different surgeon somewhere else in the world I would have paid double what Dr. Rogers charges.
