I was on propecia for 11 months or so and after a few months of starting it i got a lot of pimples on my back, well after a good month or so on avodart every pimple on my back and blemish is gone. I was wondering why propecia would create acne on back and avodart would remove it, could it be the type 1 dht?

that's really interesting. I also got acne once I started propecia on my back and my chest. I thought it might be due to increase in testosterone but since Avodart increases testosterone way more than propecia does I am lost.
I think it has to do with the two types of DHT transformation, Since propecia only inhibits one, more free T is left to transform to the other and thus more acne since I think acne is mainly formed from the one propecia does not inhibit. dutasteride inhibits both and so just free T left floating about but less acne.
