Advice On Using Topical Tretinoin Gel For Minoxidil Absorption

So I recently purchased tretinoin gel .1% online, and was wondering how to apply this to increase minoxidil absorption/effectiveness. I have had no success with minoxidil, so I was thinking this may help a bit (might as well give it a shot). How much do I apply? How frequently should I use it? Should I apply before/after minoxidil?

Thanks for any replies!

Was just posting about this in another thread

Put the gel (a very small amount) on the areas you're going to apply the minoxidil. Personally I wait about 20 minutes to allow the tretinoin to "do its thing" to the skin, and then apply minoxidil, but it probably doesn't matter that much. If you don't want to be in and out of the bathroom just try applying one right after the other

.1% is strong to be starting out with. If you want to use a percentage that high, it's better to build up to it. I use .025% and its very potent, and I probably won't be increasing the percentage

You want to be really gradual so your skin will adjust and you don't end up with a red, caked up scalp. I recommend starting out with just a couple applications a week, building up to EOD or ED (depending on how well you're tolerating it) over the course of a month or 2

Really? I've applied it for 3 nights straight on my hairline area, and haven't had any redness or irritation. Do you feel anything on your scalp where you apply it? Maybe I got some knock off stuff online. Got it from Tara Skin Care.

Also I see that you use peppermint oil as well. How do you apply it? Do you use it straight without diluting it? Been doing that lately and been getting insane scalp burn. Actually like how it feels tho, gets rid of the itch.

I add 1/2 teaspoon(2.5ml) of the peppermint oil to a bottle of kirkland liquid minoxidil. Yeah it seems to have a pretty intense anti inflammatory effect as well as being a penetration enhancer.

Man idk, if you've never used tretinoin on that area before it seems a bit off to me that you're not getting any redness from 3 straight nights of such a high percentage. Maybe you just have super high tolerance to it, but idk

Also, any research reports on the effectiveness of Tretinoin?
(I use .025% on my face and it took about a week before any slight redness to appear. It is Rx from MD)
