if i am i will prob shave it soon and not take meds, if i’m not i’ll keep my long hair so idk

It seems like you are diffuse thinning. It's difficult to tell by how long your hair is, which is why from now I would recommend you cut you hair a lot shorter so you can keep track more easily. Long hair gives you a false sense of security as it masks the truth.

If you can shave it that would be great because it will make applying treatments so much easier and possibly more effective.

I would recommend you try Microneedling twice a week and using topical Minoxidil 5% every day, twice a day but only skip the minoxidil application on the day you microneedle.

If you can afford it, I'd recommend using a DermPen type Microneedling device instead of a Dermaroller, since it's more efficient and less painful.

Dr Pen M8 or similar, or the Derminator 2 are really good derma pens to go for.

One of them come with a 9 of 12 set of needle cartridges, which will last you 4 to 5 months which is great, provided you use 1 every 2 weeks.

Theres a few reason for changing it after every use. But simply try to change it after every use for best results.

Each cartridge is approximately $5 so in a month that's $10.

Its a good investment to make for your hair that won't f*** your body and hormones up unlike anti-androgens like Finasteride, Dutasteride, etc.

If you can't afford a Derma Pen type Microneedling device, then just use a Dermaroller type Microneedling device. It's not as effective and can hurt a lot more but it should do the job provided you use the correct technique.

Dude gtfo the forums you’re 16. Yeah you might have the balding gene but it probably won’t manifest itself until a few years more. Just live your life for now.

Bad advice. There's even people who start aggressively Balding before 16.

Listen. Your Being weird. You are NOT balding. You have very dense hair. If your worried about family history and sh*t you can take finasteride in 2 years. A lot of people take it at 18. There’s a streamer “train wreck” who started finasteride at 18. He’s in his 30s now and kept all his hair. You won’t lose more hair between now and 18, even if you are balding. Don’t even think about your hair for 2 years . Chill

I agree with you, Finasteride is bad. Wishing we could go back to the time before we all decided to take it.
Bro US diffuse thinners have no other option. I find it sad you're fear mongering. I appreciate your advice but you're just saying it's bad and trying to cancel hope for everyone. If finasteride is so bad, give us another option, not a pill that may or may not be available in 5 or so years, you're seriously telling people to wait for that sh*t? It is a gamble, and it may not even work effectively.

Honestly I am usually kind, but this is bullshit and you know it. Sure finasteride can be really dangerous in some cases of side effects upon unlucky individuals, but there literally isn't another stable and consistent option... Duta could be argued as worse, and Eucapil lacks studies, minoxidil doesn't tackle the problem nor does microneedling lol. If you really believe one should avoid finasteride at all, at least suggest something that tackles the root cause, which minoxidil DOESN'T.

I'm not waiting 5 years and letting my hair thin out entirely, I'll be basically bald and all my follicles would have likely disappeared like my Father underneath all the minoxidil hairs.

Bro, just because there aren't any effective treatments doesn't mean one should just take whatever is available.

Because you might find that even after trying it, it doesn't work, or made your hairloss worse and even more sensitive to DHT, and possibly even have side effects some of which may possibly be permanent.
There is zero bullshit or fear mongering in what I said.

If you think someone literally saying the exact side effects of Finasteride is Fear Mongering, you really don't understand that ignorance is not always bliss.

Knowledge is power.

You can by all means try it out if you're prepared to risk it.

Although I already mentioned, you should still try Minoxidil Topical + Microneedling.

Atleast you will be tackling one cause of the hairloss as opposed to just waiting and targeting no causes of your hairloss.

But taking min, and derma rolling will hide the issue and everyday my hair will actually be worse underneath and 5 years is too long, I won't have any hair left to save, if minoxidil works my natural hair still would be absolutely destroyed and miniaturized (apart from the minoxidil hairs, which aren't valid really). Regardless, in 5 years my hair will be thinned entirely without something to stop it.

Hair loss destroys and if not damages someone's mental health, if it didn't none of us would be on this forum. I feel bad for everyone dealing with it. I don't care about being open, truth is I am on edge, I have no desire for anything and absolutely would rather be absent (probably will be banned for saying that).

You're right it's a gamble.. But I will be severely depressed with a thinned out head.. And if I get sides or whatever, I'll also be upset, but at least I tried.

Do everything you can to save your hair if you care about it that much. Sides are completely overblown on this forum, most don't get any sides from the big 3.

Why are you talking about 5 years? Kintor Pharmaceuticals Pyrilutamide will be available in 2023, which is about 1.5 years away.

Also, many people have managed to halt their hairloss and get thickening with Minoxidil and Microneedling alone.

It's worth a try and you just need to somewhat maintain for 1.5 years approximately until hope is on the way.
