Every night for two months. Dnt know if it was successful but seemed like it was. Anyways wouldnt recommend it. Thins skin and will kill follicles eventually

At 1%? I’m assuming the thinning would be much slower or non existent if only done twice a week.

Pretty sure you'd need to apply a high % steroid everyday for a month in order to get close to that rare skin condition. It also only affects some people, while others with the same dose don't experience that symptom. A 1% hydrocortisone a few times a week sounds realistically safe.

For a few months you're probably fine, but if you do this for years your chance of getting RSS will approach 100%.

So take the inflammation away for a month. Let the shedding stop and the hair grow, then keep it on a low dose maintenance and keep growing hair!

But seriously, my shedding is down by at least 75%. It's been 8 days... i haven't seen this drastic of a hair difference since the first time i started Finasteride like 3 years ago. I'm so happy :D

Are you worried about the long term side effects?

Been a little over 2 weeks for me with hydrocortisone 1%. Shedding has dramatically stopped.

Welp, I'm interested.

I'm on minoxidil and nizoral, but I'm on finasteride as well which I could stop if necessary to try cortisone. I'd probably try for 2 months at most, hope for any denser result and then go back on finasteride (I was recently off finasteride for 6 weeks and no further shedding or issues, obviously couldn't stay off for too much longer)

Guys...I am not worried about the sides as I use it only now 3 to 4 times per month the most....now, my son had eczema since 1 yo and used hydrocortisone cream for years continuously. I don't really know if my regrowth is due to the Minoxidil or Hydrocortisone or both combined together. Do I really care...no. I am now almost 40...had this patch at the back of my head for last 5-6 years that has almost almost vanished now. One thing...I used Minoxidil few years ago with no luck..but also it was only once a day application....

Still, the idea appears to be using it at all over a long period of time will literally always lead to skin atrophy.

Anyone have links to studies that would help? Is it even a good idea to try this for a few months or did OP just luck out, and it's likely I'd get scalp irritation?

why stop finasteride? you could try cortisone without stopping finasteride

There was limited info but I read something saying it could reduce the effects of cortisone when also using finasteride.

But I am clueless with this stuff.

I don't see how unless finasteride has another mechanism of affect other than inhibiting 5ar? I doubt reducing dht would reduce the beneficial effects of cortisone on hair specifically.

Continue with finasteride. Just add hydrocortisone 1% on top of your regimen.
I did every day for 10 days straight. Now 3 times a week on days I take Dutasteride.
