just LOCK the thread damn it, that was the answer.
This way you get to keep our posts and likes and fulfill the the OP's wish to stop messages being posted on his/her thread.

No definitely not. As long as the posts still exist in the database (and they would) you're good.

Locking keeps the thread in full-view. Just cant post a new reply to it.

But the thing is every thread in Impact Section goes waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off topic.

Nope, I'm not much of a gamer... I used to LOVE Super Mario though (LOL), and have been waiting patiently for a new platform game ever since I finished Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (multiple times haha). When Odyssey comes out sometime this year I'll probably be first in line to purchase it. A little lame but it's super nostalgic for me, as I grew up playing Nintendo Mario games. I love those classics, like Mario and Zelda.
