im in need of some hope and would love to hear of some uplifting experiences! any 10 or 15 year veterans out there??
I guess you are right. I started thinning at crown at 18 but I am 22 now age have 0 temple recession. Guess I’ll hold on as long as possibleWhy would people with success on finasteride for that long still be on this forum, unless their incredibly sad. Generally, the less aggressive your hair loss the longer finasteride will work for you. However, it also boils down to if your losing your hair due to high DHT or highly sensitive follicles. If it’s the first finasteride will be your best friend
im already thinking about adding it once a week along with finasteride and oral min. may help me out a bit more but im worried about the shedI've heard that finasteride works better for younger men because they have high DHT levels. As you age your DHT levels decrease but your follicles get more and more sensitive to DHT, my plan is to switch to Dutasteride eventually.
I guess they mean the rate in which you are losing hairWhat I don’t get is that if they say it works better when you’re younger wouldn’t that be aggressive the younger you start balding? I’m 26 and just starting to notice some minor recesssion so I hope ill be lucky when I take the plunge with finasteride
High DHT + sensitivity to DHT is probably what wrecks your hair in your teens and 20s. And for older men it's probably low DHT + very sensitive to DHT.What I don’t get is that if they say it works better when you’re younger wouldn’t that be aggressive the younger you start balding? so us 22 year olds are hopeless?? lolHigh DHT + sensitivity to DHT is probably what wrecks your hair in your teens and 20s. And for older men it's probably low DHT + very sensitive to DHT.
Seems like you have held up well then??1998 or 99 first started by prescription Expensive for sure!!
Maintenance really - slow diffuse loss still but would be in real bad shape most likely without.
Good to hear man, sounds like it’s doing something. If you are still throwing out the idea that you may not even have male pattern baldness then it sounds like your hair is in good shape for sure lolI’m not a long term user . Been on it 4 years 0.5mg daily and noticed further thinning lately at my crown I think … so I have bumped it up to 1mg daily in the hope it halts anything I suspect is going on .
If in fact I do have male pattern baldness and the same destiny as my father who was full
Norwood 7 by 30 , it’s worked for me for 4 years . I’m 34 now and not a Norwood 7.
Not great but better than my brothers who probably don’t use anything!Seems like you have held up well then??
Was your hairloss aggressive from the get go? How old when started finasteride? I’m thinking of getting on finasteride just noticing some recession at 26.Not great but better than my brothers who probably don’t use anything!
