At What Point Did You Or Will You Shave ?

I'm honestly considering the head tattoo thing. I'm sure that treatment is quite controversial on here, but it seems like at least a half decent option.

It certainly solves in part the problem of baldness; the lack of contrast. I'd need to see way more before I would consider the option, but still, it seems viable to me. You could give yourself a NW1 hairline as well.

Because it looks like you have hair from a couple of feet away but you choose to shave. Someone would look at your head and make that judgement without even thinking; it would be automatic.

I guess with my hairloss now, I've got to this point where I feel can't win when it comes to haircuts. I grow it out, it starts to look ugly, but when I get it closely cropped, it looks a bit too 'military' and bland. So I can't seem to find a happy medium. My front is becoming more of an island, and the widows peaks just make the hairline look ugly.

But a tan, some muscles (eventually) and a tattooed head could be something to work with. Still, If I ever wanted to go to train as a lawyer, having a tattooed skinhead look wouldn't necessarily work for me. Guess I'll have to pursue my rock-star career instead..

At the price of SMP for the 3 sessions plus touchups in the longer term you're better off opting for transplants as a first point of action.

Hi guys,

I used to be known as hope4hairredex a while back. Used to know UCman and a few others.

I was a negative, really negative poster back then. I've changed so much from circa 18 to 28 now.

I look back and smile at some of my old posts as I was so deluded.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted some advice and inspiration. My hair on top is slowly thinning. And you know what ? f*** it. I'm OK with it. I've had a good run and I am willing to accept that this was always going to be the next stage.

I guess the top part by my forehead has been ever so slowly thinning now for sometime. My 13 year old step sister even remarked that my hair was thinning. That actually was hard to hear. I guess kids notice sh*t adults don't. It made me realise that it's clearly not just something I notice but other people could see too. Although I know at this stage of my hairloss the average adult wouldn't really care or notice.

Anyway. I am getting closer and closer to thinking - why not just bloody shave it ? I'm single, I've got nothing to lose. Because if I'm heading that way anyway, I almost feel the sooner I get it over and done, the better off I'll be.

The reality is, I still probably notice it way more than others right now. So, part of me thinks, it makes sense to keep it so I can continue getting laid and dating before I literally have a dome for a head..But, sooner or later, I'm gonna have to buy a good pair of clippers and do the business.

And then, I want to try and build my shaved look. Start to put on some muscle and make the look work for me. Being bald and thin, generally doesn't work. The bald muscular stereotype is of course an abused cliche by this point but nonetheless, I realise its pretty true. My bald thin friends end up looking quite emo, weak and sometimes sick. Where as bald and muscular, a la Jason Statham, and you have something to work with.

When did you guys take the plunge to shave ? Or when will you consider it?

For me, I'm certainly getting close to the end of my tether considering my hair thinning on top - although its only just noticible. But, I know there will come a time, perhaps in six months, a year, or sooner, that I'll start to get tired of looking at my thinning patch.

Hope you are well my balding brothers.

lol ironically last night. I do it mainly in the winter since Im always wearing a hat and clothes that actually look decent with shaved head.
But of course walking into work today everyone has to give me their 2 fuckin cents about it and act like I got a face tattoo. Thats the most irritating part.
One old lady when I went to help her actually gave me a snub nose look and this woman is actually very nice and we get along great..... it amazing the difference in personality you get from people, especially women. They will barely look me in the eyes anymore, yet almost ALL the VP guys here are older with shaved heads, even the CEO.

dude if your only a 3.5 after ten straight years of hairloss then just go for a hair transplant. f*** the tattoo

get yourself back to a 2.5 and buy yourself ten more years

2.5 with decent density is still basically a full head

I may well look into it man..

could always go for the tattoo thing later on.

I've given up hopes baldness will be cured in our lifetime.

just be smart mate

get your donor checked out, look at the math. make sensible decisions. dont be trying to get a nw1 ffs. especially if your not gonna take meds

but if you can accept your hair loss and just let it go, more power to you

use the cash on some hot hookers instead

You can get realistic ones now. The biggest issue with a wig is the psychology and limitations/shame. But if it's an option between looking bald as **** or a wig, I will always choose the latter. I can't log on facebook and suddenly start updating pictures with people I know, looking like a mess on top in my prime years. With a wig I retain my looks and sanity and would live almost the life I do now, business as usual outwardly with same status, that's the most important aspect for me.

Yeah I get your point. I think the wig would be ok to random people since they wouldn't really know but for friends/family some might use it as an opportunity for mocking.

Inevitable. You look pretty good with hair so the loss in aesthetics is more apparent with a shaved head. Few people on here are dealing with the same concerns - that sharp decline from a quick shave is brutal.

If a guy doesn't have looks they won't see any major change with or without hair. As they've already 'bottomed out' before hand.

The higher up, the bigger the fall even if you pull it off. Excluding Africans who seem immune almost to this.
it's easy to say, until you wear one.

slowly start to realize, it's an absolute dread.

A piece will realistically never be an option for me until I magically become bald over night. Bald, meaning bald... so this stupid rug will stay glued on for extended periods. LOL at the idea of wearing when you are a NW1-4... That sh*t comes off your head after a five days. The glue just cannot keep up with an active life style, which is what we want right? Forget showering everyday... another bullshit myth.

Seriously LOL, looking back at when I used to wear. It was an awful time in my life....

GOOD LUCK ever being with a women while wearing a piece in your twenties, and thirties.

I will NEVER f*****g shave my hair, ever. Did that once.

Huge mistake. If anything, I'm going to grow my hair long again.

For the first time, I do feel there are some treatments that will give us some
hope, if just a little. By that, I'm talking about Follical, which is right around the corner
from me, and Histogen, when they are released in Mexico.
