People don't choose whether or not they remain attracted to their partner. It's not like shopping at the supermarket. If somebody lets themselves go, the attraction can dissipate, sometimes quickly.

As for Americans being more superficial than the rest of the world ... human nature is the same in every country.

She's got a nice market for herself as a gamer goddess, among video game girls she's a 10/10. If she grew up a little bit and went to a law school she'd be a 6.5/10 in that market, she'd be more attractive and more desirable to men like us, but she wouldn't be as much of a goddess within her own bubble, there'd be nobody paying her to sip gatorade.

You're missing the point. There are beautiful women who still love their fat husband, and vice versa, and elderly couples that still love each other. Love starts with physical attraction, but it becomes something deeper.
