You must not have played a lot of Japanese videogames.
In Phoenix Wright 5, the Judge is refered as Your Baldness! by an sarcastic dude who has shitton of hair and half of the jokes in the game deal with his senility or bald head.
I've seen this sh*t in a lot of Japanese games. In anime as well, heck just watch Gintama:
You know what the worst part about Mei from Guilty Gear is? She's in love with a dude who is in his 30s, but she is still in her mid teens. And that dude has shitton of hair.

Japanese cannot stand this sh*t. In Japan, bald head means shame. People shave heads there to show that they did something shameful. Imagine carrying a shame for the rest of your life, it's fucked up.
