I finally tried Tinder in Vietnam and my mind has been blown. I set my location to Saigon (population 8 million) just to test it out and the result were remarkable.
In the UK out of 100 right swipes I will probably get around 15 matches (which sounds low but I'm told its a little above average).
Today I swiped right on 100 women and I made around 70 matches.
And these women are better looking than the English women.
Its crazy, I guess out here just by having a decent job and a white face is enough to get a beautiful partner.

Part of Asian culture expects a man to pay for a womans meal and drinks. But then again, I'm told that in some places in America the man is also expected to pay for a lot of this stuff as well. On the flip side, a drink in Thailand is around 1 dollar and a meal is around 5 dollars - compared to 7 dollar beers and 20 dollar meals in America. So taking a woman out is only like 7 dollars and its not a big deal at all in asia
As for the men who pay women for their lifestyles - I 100% believe they are suckers and that they are being completely ripped off.
From what I heard though it is none of the younger guys who do this and it is usually the older men who are over 50 who end up with these arrangements. These guys have more money and are probably a lot more desperate then us 20 and 30 somethings.

As for me, I think I'm going to start dating again when I move back to the city in August. I feel like the isolation out here does send me a little crazy when I am alone - so it might be wise to start getting out a bit more.
I'm still not ready for a relationship but I will date casually and I will tell them straight up what my intentions are so that nobody gets hurt.
I definitely want to fall in love and all that but right now I am a little jaded and don't have the optimism for a relationship.
