I only have sympathy for balding men if they are under 30 (because that's when you are supposed to be young and pretty).

But over 30's I couldn't give a f*** - that's a major part of ageing for men and most of us go through it. As long as you have 10 years as an adult as a full head then you are lucky. I even consider myself lucky and I am more bald then all but two of my friends at the age of 31.

I couldn't disagree more. And no I'm not 30 yet. But I bet it would annoy me equally at 30 to 40 as it does now. Just because it is happening to most guys doesn't mean it's a f*****g sh*t flaw that makes you less comdortable!

Deja Vu

Anyway, f*** what women think about it, I care more about what I think about it.

I have 90s boyband face. Hair is an essential part of the look. That face without hair is like

• Peanut butter without jelly

• Abbot without Costello

• Fries without ketchup

• Simon without Garfunkel

• Siegfried without Roy

• Star Wars without Harrison Ford

• Mama June without clothes

I need that f*****g hair
We should start a bald boy band.

We'd be like 1d without hair

I think the point I was making is that a nw3 with a little thining doesn't look so bad on my face at 31 but It would look awful at 21.

Plus, many of my friends my age are also balding - a couple of them are already nw5s.

The balding pill gets a little easier to swallow the older you get - that's the basic point.

I care about what I think about it because women see it, and for that reason alone.

I couldn't disagree more. And no I'm not 30 yet. But I bet it would annoy me equally at 30 to 40 as it does now. Just because it is happening to most guys doesn't mean it's a f*****g sh*t flaw that makes you less comdortable!

Equally? Not a chance. I'm 30 and just about surviving as a non-bald guy (hardly a full head though) and like Johnson I definitely feel some form of relief it didn't all go 10, even 5 years ago, I still feel fortunate I had the most of a life I could live in my 20s. It seems like a lot of younger guys on here didn't get that, not just with dating but with everything socially, and I know I would've reacted the same way.

I'm also similar to Johnson in that my hair now would look blatantly bald on my early 20s face, but now I'm older it somewhat fits - obviously not a preferred look for me or anyone who has to look at me, but comparatively a million times less noticeable.

And finally by going towards end game in your 20s you know that you're relying on a hair transplant and it has to be soon, or you won't even have a normal f*****g 30s either. The anxiety and possibility of a hair transplant not resulting well or the follicles refusing to take, that's too much. Right now I'm always somewhat anxious but there's still a possibility I can survive on treatments as I've responded well.

Sorry it's just not a competition here. I know as well because oddly my hair had bad stages in my early 20s and signs of recession from the age of 16, just luck it was never too aggressive, but I got a glimpse into how bad it could get for me so young.

I will care about balding and hair loss when I'm 65. And probably just as much. No exaggeration. Bottom line for me is that male pattern baldness does not happen to all men and it is a disease and disfigurement. Not trying to rehash the is it worse for young people (yeah, it is) but a disfigurement is a disfigurement. I don't quite get why so many of you think you won't care about being disfigured when you are 30 plus. 30 is a CHILD in today's society btw! But yeah, I will care until I'm 70, very much so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 30 and not quite NW3 (but diffuse) so, not as bad as a lot of guys on here, and it's still constantly on my mind. Some days are awful, I hate it and I hate not being free from it, and I'll also care beyond middle age, but in the oddest way I still feel "lucky" it didn't happen sooner.

I think @JohnsonDDG might be similar to me in that he had signs of recession young and has managed to hold on. So I hate it but also remain thankful it wasn't that aggressive.

On the other hand if I had hit over NW3 by late 20s I would've had a hair transplant or 2 by now and a full head of hair instead of this f*****g mess.

But actually I don't know what I was thinking giving this post a Like (though not petty enough to take it back).

As before I think it's nowhere near balding a in your 30s but at the same time - you have like no sympathy at all?! It sucks man.

There's a reason you're on here after all.

I do actually have some sympathy - I think sometimes on this forum it is easy to write things in a more extreme way.

Like I say, balding at my age isn't the worst thing in the world. I had my 20s where I went out and got laid and had a fantastic time. I've had my fun. But there are some men, especially on this forum, who never had that fun in their 20s because they were already nw4s at 24.
