meh i dunno, i wonder what females think of andre agassi wig, maybe they think he should keep it on or they liked him better with the wig on.

im unsure what they think of john travolta with his wig, tbh i think theyd rather see travolta as a heartrob with his hairpiece than a bal guy without the hairpiece becuase he looks better.

but i agree people will look at you differently when THEY KNOW it's a wig, they are USED to you bald, they - in general- don't like seeing you with hair becuase THEY KNOW it's not yours.

people - in general- don't' like bal guys in wigs, i know i personally woulnt (if i was not balding), i'd think they being big massive phonies and deceiving people, trying to pass of an ENTIRE head of hair as their own, trying to live a social life they are not genetically destined to have.

overall it's prety bad IMO.

With a view like that, how have you been able to accept yourself in a wig??

becuase i have no choice

andre just looks ok without wig.

but for me baldness makes me the insta-freak of the room, i need hair to make me look normal, agassi looks normal without hair, i look normal with hair.

Celebrities have a much easier time getting away with wearing. For Enrique, the wig is just helping his career massively because his image is so important. That's a much better 'excuse' than if he was just a regular guy/ non celebrity wearing a wig. Personally I have no hang ups about it. Women wear hair extensions to make their hair appear longer/ thicker, why can't men do the same to make theirs appear... more there. We're at an age where people are looking after themselves more specifically in how they present themselves, it's not just personal vanity. I reckon in a few years/ decades whatever, people are gonna be less embarrassed by wig wearing. I'd have no problem dating a woman who had to wear a wig because 'real' hair has no other purpose than to enhance your appearance so a perfectly real looking wig is doing the exact same thing. If anything (as long as you have the money) you have more versatility and choices in hairstyles.

Masculinity and femininity are 2 completly different things.
Women are actually expected to make an effort to improve their appearance its a girly thing. If a woman never wears make up or does her hair/shaves her legs other women will actually question why not? Does'nt she have feminine insticts?
Men are supposed to be strong confident and able to handle whatever life throws at them and that includes things like hairloss.
In a womans eyes (and that of other men) if a man cant cope with this natural condition thats a sign of weakness.
This is also why many guys pretend to work out for fitness reasons or to be better at sport rather than just admit they want a better body to make themselves more attractive to women.

i don't knwo about that.

hairloss IMo is seen as a differnet catagory to whatever other things can happen to a man

hairloss is pretty damn unique, i woulndt treat it the same way.

but yeah, stigma for fixing hairloss is high, i mean it's hard for me to think of a guy who fixes his hairloss, would i think less of him? maybe?

i think most bal guys would be jealous really, that he had the balls to admit being bald is a problem, i mean the only peopel that go bald gracefull are black guys and senoir citizens, you really arn't fooling anyone with your "im totally not bothered about being bald" speach and you look like ***, people will treat you liek crap for being bald in osical situations, why not say "no i want ot fix this", then peopel shut up.

no one is calling wayne rooney bobby charlton anymore becuawe he fixed his hairloss.

same with elton john, im pretty sure if that guy was showing his natural hair he'd be fucked, but now he's ok.

i mean if you take 3 25/30 year old guys and one of them is presenting a balding pattern, other is sly bald, the other is a NW1 (but is wig), and i knew it was a wig, if it looked good, i woulnt think less of him over the other two bald(ing) guys, i think that that guy has made the smart move

Rooney got some serious 5hit for his hair transplant from everyone people are still making jokes about it now. And the same with Elton its just that its been so long now that people have got used to it. Same with Terry Wogan and Bruce Forsyth but these are all old men (and in showbusiness) so the stigma of baldness is less than for a young guy.
People would be more accepting of Elton if he had'nt hidden his bald head away since the 70's.

The way I see it you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. There is no winning. There is no real solution to baldness. You basically have to choose between the ugly truth or a beautiful lie.

well put UCMan.

but in either case the beutiful lie over the ugly truth is the only way i can cope with this harse card i have been dealt in life, i just cannot accept myself as the social freak of the room ( 5' 5" height and looking like E.T.)for dating, how can i turn into a complete joke so quik and soo young - for others, baldness is easier to handle, also IMO once i reach middle aged my baldness will just make things WORSE, like a creepy old man type look, as stipe has into his middle aged.

for saf, i have been looking at elton john and what he did, thinnign top in 20s, then hats alot in 30s (changed his dress code to match the hat) then wigs in late 30s that looke a bit rubbish, his wigs got better an now his hair is perfect for a man in his 60s, i think the problem with elton john is that he keeps changing his hair all the time, i have many pics of him looking totally stupid with the wigs he wore in the 80s, nowadays there is consistancy and it looks good.

but im not sure, i think people are noticing say joe satrianis head more tha they are that elton john MIGHT be bald and is likely wearing a wig, to me the damage control of the wig is VERY minor, i don't see what elton john does as sad and michael stipe as brave as example.

also what were people saying about rooneys transplant exactly, were they callign him vain or insecure or somethign like that?

I don't have to like Rooney to say that those calling him vain and insecure are total morons. Wayne Rooney is the last guy on earth you'd consider 'vain' and I respect anybody who can get past what other people might think about them if they get a transplant, and do something that will really change their life in terms of how they feel about themselves. If these people did nothing to enhance their appearance ever, just wore tracksuit bottoms and a t shirt every day, only cut their hair when it was getting in the way, and just never looked after the exterior, then they could say stuff. Alas this is not the case.

I doubt those people taking the piss are spending £10,000 on painfull surgeries to improve their appearance.
Have you seen the state of the average football fan? Most of them seem to view a beauty regime as having a bath once a week.

Most people would think that earning £millions and playing top level football should be enough to be thankfull for. Only fellow H/L sufferes can really understand. With Rooney its probably being in the public eye and getting all the comments on his appearance that drove him to it.
