Good point HairLossTalk.com, I can't think of a single guy with a unique style today, but give me some time maybe I can come up with something.

Ok how about Jack from the White Stripes kind of a fruit.

Today's "rock" music sucks. I dont even listen to it anymore, nor do i play guitar anymore, which I have done for 13 years. I had a chance to meet Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, and jammed with a ton of bands but the whole scene today is void of life and completely unoriginal and therefore my love for it all died a few years ago.

There are no more guitar hero's, no more singers that could front a band and entertain the audiance like guys from the 70's and early 80's could. Basically the whole scene has just imploded due to "corporate rock" weenies that are more into image than substance. Things should turn around in a few years when a really good band blows everyone away with their originality and great music.

I say bring back 2LiveCrew " Pop, Pop, pop that pussy baby, pop, pop that pussy baby pop, pop, pop that stinky pussy baby." I am jamming to it right now. Those mofo's had allot of individuality. Word-

Even the rappers back then had style like Run DMC, The Fatboys, Dr.Dre EZ E, NWA, Cool J, Rob Base etc... - no such thing as bling bling- Justa hardcore. We all liked it dont lie because the girls loved it.

You're listening to the wrong rock music. Good rock music is seldomly on the radio now adays. I listen to a lot of Indie and Post Rock music that is just incredible.

If you're looking for something that *is* on the radio, go check out Mars Volta or Jack White of the White Stripes. You'll find some guitar heros there.

The White Stripes is fabricated in a Studio- Such a shame. Check out the Hives.

The White Stripes latest album was recorded on all analog equipment issued in the late 60s.

The Hives are ok, but they're a bunch of wannabes. You'll never hear another good album from them.

Like I said, I stopped listening to "rock" a while ago. I never even heard of any of the bands you mentioned, except the Strokes. They were hyped big time and i thought, "Great. I good rock band, finally." Then i heard them. Sorry, dont like it. Now I just listen and write tunes of a different genre.

Maybe some of the other indie stuff is what I should ltry listening to, cause as it stands I cant stand listening to drudge/killmyself stuff thats on the radio now and wont, ever.

By the way, I think the guitarist from the White Strips is a good hook writer but whats up with some the retarded lyrics/singing?

Me neither except for the Greenday incarnation. I know one thing I listen to back to the 80's night on the radio and there was such a diversity in the music- freaks like the Culture Club, Big Country, Dexies midnight runners, Human League I could go on and on just listen to one of these 80's flash backs and you will realize the talent back then- It was so hot that you still have carry overs from that period who changed little like U2, Madonna, Metallica, Micheal Jackson, Aerosmith, Guns, ACDC, Kiss I could go on all night. Ever culture was represented.

I want someone here to name a good original band that is out today, that could even compare to what was back then not only in music but in Character and substance as well.

How over-rated are the Strokes?? Thay belong in the file of the most-over-rated bands of all time along with: Radiohead, Coldplay, Velvet Underground, New Order and R.E.M.

How many of you rockers / metal-heads had long hair before the onset of male pattern baldness? Im guessing quite a few.

From about `92 to `96 i had long hair, kind of like Brandon Boyd`s from Incubus. I miss my long hair.

I had long hair (just above shoulders) from age of 16 to 18 around '97 - '98. I cut it just after 'tallica cut their's because they are gods (just kidding). I am going to start growoing it out again, it's in a kind of ear length curtains parting thing at the mo. I always put a streak of blonde on one of the curtains.
