biglemon, I will assume you were being facetious.

JayMan, China is an evil regime with an awful history of human rights abuses. Not to mention that, they also don't have a freely trading currency, and their people make jack an hour. If I'm going to buy something made overseas, I'd like to buy it from a country that could afford products made in Canada. Or the USA for that matter.

Finally, I only buy products made in countries that are democracies.

I guess you don't buy any US products then, because the United States is a republic. :D

Follically Challenged, don't make this a political issue, most of the sh1t you use everyday is made from China. "I only buy products made in countries that are democracies" <------good luck with this one.

Even if you find a product made here, they make it on machines and the extra money goes from your pocket into some rich guy's pocket. At least in china the starving people get some labor, though my anthropology teacher said globalization hurts 3rd world countries. I forgot why.

Wow :shock: ..... if you're against buying products from companies that exploit cheap labour, then there's nothing wrong with that.... but don't think for a second that democratic countries are innocent and don't contribute to those human right abuses.

As for a pill cutter, just get a box cutter, they work just fine. But don't just get any old box cutter, get an American Made box cutter!!

College, it's either a rich sellout exploiting Chinese labourers or a rich patriot who's been good enough to keep the jobs in North America. When being charitable I think I'll just give money to a charity.

Nothing i *buy* is made in China. Is that okay gentlemen? Or should I just put aside my morals so you guys can keep the politics out of your precious little hair loss talk forum. Gimme a break.

JayMan -------> http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/democracy Read definition 1.

I believe you were the one that threw the politics in the hair loss forum by stating you don't want products that were made in China. Gimme a break.

I would have looked like a kook if i didn't delete it.

For anyone curious what i said, i said i'd like to see someone play devil's advocate on this one. And that i could have just left it at i want to buy from a democracy. Now i'll delete that post about saying you were lying about seeing 2 hot chicks make out in front of you in your apartment.

Well, that certainly wasn't a lie....and only one of them was good looking....and why would you even say I was lying? I have no reason to.

Folically,

Not to drag this out, but that definition is not oft used like the others.

A republic isa representative government ruled by law. In our country that would be the constitution. A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority, otherwise known as mob rule. A republic will recognize the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs- the public good..
