so new here and used nizoral for years, has the product actually been discontinued? I've read on some threads that it has been totally discontinued, and this thread says there it will be on shelves at a later date? So confused, anyone have the latest 411 on nizoral? I live in US

I dont get why some company doesnt just make a generic knock off of it and sell for cheaper with a different name or something. They do it with some other over priced shampoos and use the same ingredients.

I just picked up 3 bottles of Nizoral from a local store. I was shocked to see it on store shelves.

Generic versions (of anything) have to have slightly changed % or amount of at least one of the ingredients vs original.
But the difference is so small in most cases people don't notice.

Otherwise there would be lawsuits. That's how it works in the US.. I'm not 100% sure about Australia but I'm guessing it's the same.

The % of katekonazole is the same, ether 1 or 2% but one of the other ingredients has to be slightly changed.
It doesn't mean the product is bad or anything.
I remember cvs were selling their own brand of 5% liquid minoxidil. I remember on the box they had statement: same ingredients as Rogaine maximum strength. It had same ingredients but % of alcohol was slightly lower than Rogaine product.
