Can seborrheic dermatitis cause a massive shedding?

Hello. Been losing hair for 3 months whilst on dutasteride and oral minoxidil 5mg. At first I recovered pretty much all my hair but since 3 months ago, I've lost almost if not more than half of my hair ( I can see my scalp through my hair and I've lost hair in a diffuse pattern). I've dandruff (not much tho because I wash my hair everyday), itchiness if I don't wash my hair every single day( after 12 hours of my last shower, hair starts to itch) and an insane scalp pain that even awake me at nights. I don't know where the pain comes from if my scalp is not red( maybe some patches but not much to explain all the pain I feel). I feel the pain all over my scalp. I don't know if that is seborrheic dermatitis because almost every case I've seen of dermatitis + hair loss is from people who have lot of dandruff and their scalp is pretty much red. I'm not able to figure what is causing this rapid loss. I've had the same scalp pain and an aggressive loss but that was before I treated my Androgenic Alopecia so the hair loss had sense, Androgenic Alopecia and seborrheic dermatitis = Aggressive shedding, but is it seborrheic dermatitis without much redness + not much dandruff + almost no scalp redness but infernal pain = Aggresive shedding too? I don't see the scenario of Androgenetic alopecia + seborrheic dermatitis again because I'm taking dutasteride every single day for a year. No rest from the drug. If you know what can cause Scalp pain + Aggressive shedding let me know cause I'm very lost at this moment.
Thanks.

Yes, that’s likely what it is. If you don’t control it, your hair loss will continue no matter how many antiandrogens and minoxidil you take.
What can I do?? Shedding is worse each month... I've tried keto 1% and 2% and none of them solved my scalp pain. Is there any other shampoo or anything else I can use?? Thank you for the reply.

It can be largely untreatable even with reductase inhibitors. Dermatitis is driven also by DHT/T and it can be more debilitating functionally and looks-wise that hair loss. Unfortunately for me, only beard removal plus estrogen worked to halt it and oral min can emphatically make it worse in my experiences as it seems to come up from beard and hair follicles and they might inter-infect each other.

I have a couple of pics where I was on both duta and finasteride which should work to ameliorate dermatitis but no dice until beard removal and inducing an estrogenic environment. Acne can be similar.

My first question to you is, Did it ever work for you? Because my case is pretty weird. I was an hyper responder of the drug, in 3 months I recovered all my hair when I started a year ago. I also treated my dermatitis in the past with few shampoos and it completely disappeared. Your case doesn't seem like mine because if I have understood well, you didn't respond well at finas/dutas from the beginning and couldn't treat dermatitis with anything.

This is my temples stage at this moment. I can see some redness. Could it be causing my hair loss? I also have redness(worse than temples) on the donor area, crown and mid scalp and also have low density in those areas.

I'm thinking on ciclopirox olamine shampoo+ clobetasol propinoate. I think that was what I used in the past.
For shampoos, I use a combo of nizoral, t-sal, and t-gel. I also use a hydrocortisone scalp relief liquid, and a salycilic acid scalp relief liquid daily.

Seb derm can def cause bad Telogen Effluvium, which can in turn drastically speed up the pace of androgenic alopecia. If nothing seems to work, you can try a round of oral antifungals like terbinifine or fluconazole which should help to get it under control

Didn't work for Janey but beard removal did! Dermatitis can be far more crippling than moderate hair loss. Yeast infections, rashes, mushy beard consistence that means one shave per blade and inability not to cut and re-infect myself. I won't post pics lest ye all throw tomatoes at me but Janey prefers, ahem, cucumbers to use on .... X. Throw money and I will twirl and twirl and curtsie<winks>.

I am just like a real live gurl? or girl" or gal? or gay?

But if I'm treating Androgenic alopecia and I've seb dermatitis, the hair loss is reversible, right?

Yes as long as the androgenic alopecia is indeed under control and miniaturization isn't still taking place to the hairs that are shed

I've some short hairs around the temples but I don't know if it's miniaturization or thinning. How do you know that?

What do you think about hairline? I think it is kinda improving(the 3 month pic is my peak result before it started to fall again) but the overall density behind the hairline has decrease so bad that I can see my scalp through certain light when in the past I didn't see it at all .. Also when I comb my hair, I have the feeling I dont have hair and it is so light, that is hard to comb.

Your hairline looks good and perfectly intact without really signs of recession, so most likely you are fine. For miniaturization, if the hairs that fall out progressively get thinner (and many times you can see them taper throughout the hair itself).
