Capillus vs Blueprint 302 laser caps?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been searching the forum but haven’t found much in the way of personal stories regarding laser caps or LLLT. These devices cost anywhere from $1,000 to +$2,000, and since they’re FDA-cleared, they must be doing something, right? Does anyone have any firsthand experience or a success story to share? Also, if there's already an active thread on this that I missed, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance!

I got Hairmax 272..
You can buy a used one on EBay..
Again science is solid but results lacking..
For me— just part of a regimen

Thanks for the tip, Jakejr! I looked into the Hairmax 272 and it does seem much more affordable, especially on the secondary market.

However, I'm trying to figure out if there's a "catch" with the price gap. Capillus and Blueprint 302 are sitting at over $1,200 (or €1,200+ here), which is nearly triple the price of some entry-level Hairmax or Kiierr models. From what I’ve gathered, the premium price usually pays for:

  • Treatment Speed: High-end models like Capillus Pro or Blueprint often only require 6 minutes a day, while cheaper 272-diode alternatives can take 30 minutes every other day.
  • Diode Density: The Blueprint has 302 lasers and Capillus goes up to 312, providing more uniform scalp coverage than models with fewer diodes.
  • Build Quality: The more expensive caps often use medical-grade silicone and flexible designs for better comfort compared to rigid plastic "helmets".
Is the "science" really that different between a $400 device and a $2,000 one if they both use 650nm lasers? Some experts argue there's an "absorption limit" where extra power doesn't actually grow more hair.

Anyone who used Capillus and Blueprint?
