@TK421 I think I've seen some articles where it takes up to 18 months of supplementation to normalize vit D levels above 40ng/mL.

vit D: Peruvian brand
iron : ferrous sulphate 150mg 3x/week
b12: 250mcg daily
biotin: 300mcg daily
zinc: 30mg daily

in my case I've suffered from thin sparse body hair my whole adult life so it made a really dramatic change (and induced a beard in my father)
if your body hair is thick, let's say the eyebrows (which are androgen-insensitive) then you probably don't have severe vitamin deficiency like me.
you could give it a try for 4 months

Thanks, I'll continue supplementing with Vit D since it's cheap (I've used Nature Made and Vitamin Shoppe brand). I should get another blood test in a few months to see what my levels are.

There are some people in internet that report having hair loss after taking chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate so i am a bit skeptical about this suggestion?
I read that these compounds for knee health reduce PGE2, which is needed for hair growth.

Chondroitin Sulphate for hair regrowth.
I didn’t monitor it when I happened to take it or MSM but wasn’t looking so can’t be definitive. On another front was able to order an estrogen cream which I will use on sides/scalp sparingly to see if any difference.
Also tofacitinib a JAK Inhibitor. I will grind pills into powder then put in a topical scalp cream I have. See if this does anything.

I have the vertical nail ridges you speak of.. however when I take iron or vitamin d my scalp becomes very itchy and I get massive shedding. I think it boosts the androgens in my body.

Hi guys
I have been using chondroitin sulfate as a supplememt for a few months and my hair is growing fast and even a few thin spots have filled in - no other changes in my regimen otherwise

This paper seems to support this effect

@el_duterino

very very interesting. Did u stop using it. Still working?

We happen to lose hair right where there is a tendon sheath or a tendon. Those people who have retrograde alopecia also happen to lose hair above and in front of the ear and the nape. All these spots are tendon tissue under the skin. The supplement you take is suppose to help with increasing the quality of synovial fluid.

i wonder if somehow the aging of this tendon material results into the cascade of hair loss
