I can tell you are starting to bald but consider yourself lucky. You are catching at a very early stage and you live in a time where there are things you can do for it. I wish I had the same things available today 10 years ago. I most likely would have most of it still.

and why is he balding? those pics show nothing of balding. that bald spot, everyone has even as a kid. thats where the hair seperates in opposite direction giving the illusion that its a bald patch. seriously, some of u guys gotta lay off and take it easy on ppl.

In-valid nailed it on the head. We are so used to balding that hair like that seems like it has no trace of balding. Before my hair loss, you could barely see my scalp no matter how you brushed it. At the first sign of my hair loss, my hair was coming out by the hundreds and with very light touch too. I told everyone I knew that I was losing my hair trying to seek advice. They all told me I was crazy and that my hair was fine, aarrrrgg. My hair still looked thick but when I would get out of the shower, all I saw was scalp. When it dried it was fine. After about 8 months, I finally started getting the balding jokes :( .

My point being is yeah, this guys hair is still thick and all of us would love to have it. The thing is, this guy knows how much hair he used to have and is seeing that there is less. There is a chance that his crown was always showing his scalp slightly but I have seen people with the same hairstyle and maybe saw a dot at the most, if that. So I am giving this guy the benifit of the doubt that his hair was thicker and would definitely like to help him in anyway even though I'm a little jealous. If this guy is really starting to bald, the last thing he wants to hear is when you get to be as bald as me, then you can come in here and ask for advice. My $0.02.

if this guy combed his hair backwards i'm sure we'd see thinning areas. my hair situation is the same as his. combing it that way is a good way to conceal it. i can see the scalp and thinning near his crown in the frontal picture. can't any of you? that's what he's worried about...look at the top of his head. you'd think since your people are losing your hair, you'd notice it immediately. use minoxidil for that problem and you'll be fine. i had the same situation and i'm doing fine with it. good luck

No, I've seen your pictures. Your hair situation is not like his. I don't see any thinning, but he has to pull his hair back. From the evidence shown, he doesn't have hairloss. If he pulls that hair back, it might be a different story.

duh..you just agreed with me. and that photo of me you saw was a year or two ago. my hair situation isn't as good as it was in that picture..it's like his is now..maybe a little harder to conceal than his

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for taking time to reply to my post. I really appreciate everyone's input.

So everyone knows, I am 22 (although Oct 17 is my b-day  )

For those who say I am not balding, well, I'm pretty sure I am.

Those who said "I" notice a difference are dead on. Although my hair has always been fairly thin (and straight), it is definetely beginning to thin out in the front. As far as my bald spot, well I've always had a prominant "swirl" in the back of my head, but it just seems like it's getting thinner to me.

I also have been experiencing more shedding (particulary in the shower, and when my hair was black). Lately though, I haven't noticed so much.

Genetics wise, my father is bald. Started balding at my age, my two oldest half brothers (same mom) are both balding. My older full-brother's hairline has dramatically receided. My other full brother (2 years older) has no apparent signs of balding.

As far as my mom's father, well he died in his mid 40's with a full set of hair - but a bad heart!!! (it's ok, had to do with WW2)

Anyway, here is another pic of my brow with my hair back and up.

Also!! It's kinda discouraging to think that some folks on this forum would choose not to help another fellow male pattern baldness victim. I would hope that everyone would be honest about it, jealously aside.

I didn't agree with you. I said we MIGHT see some thinning if he pulled his front back, i can't say anything until then. And I was saying your old picture isn't nearly as good as his hair now.. your hairline was alot higher and receded than his. So if your hair situation is worse than that pic, it's most certainly worse than his hair now.

People are being honest about it dude, noone wants you to lose your hair, get real.

My thoughts, if you think you are losing it, then you probably are, but god knows at what rate. Your family history doesn't sound good, tho.

You still haven't pulled your hair back, it's just standing up straight. Pull it back with your hands while taking a pic of it so we can see the hairline. From what it looks like now, i could go either way. It does seem a tiny bit thin at the very front, but certainly nothing any normal person would notice.

Tough choice on what to do man.. You probably have lost some hair.. and if your family history is as you say, you very might likely lose more. If I were you, I'd research like mad on all the hairloss boards (hairsite and hairlosshelp are good ones too). check out propecia and minoxidil.. and see which is the right choice (if not both). Side effects are possible.. and you'l have to take these drugs for life to maintain the results. I'd definitely get on nizoral 1% shampoo 3 times a week for now while you try to make a decision on hairloss meds.

Besides Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia.. there are a slew of new things out there. RU/Fluridil/6BAP/T-Flav/tricomin/folligen/spironolactone/etc. god knows what all these things really do.. If you want to start light.. maybe topical spironolactone may be a good option.

Let us know..

I don't think you're balding in the back. Even though my friends swear I have a bald spot, the back of my head looks like yours. Lots of people have the swirl in the back of the head so I wouldn't worry about that too much. You're hairloss if any seems to be in the front. I say hop on some minoxidil 5% to thicken that up, and Nizoral too.

looks good to me, I would never have guessed you were going down. It happens damn fast so you should get on something before it starts to really pick up steam. You know your hair better than anyone, so you gotta make the call. I cant tell so you should use basic stuff that will maintain like Nano or something, when it starts to thin out more add Xandrox 5% if it still is going down the shitter add Propecia. Let that be a last resort as you are still quite young.

It started for me with a slight recession at the right temple and at the same time the vertex although I couldn't see it. People would make jokes but I thought they were goofing on me. When I finally picked up a mirror I almost sh*t myself. If I had gotten on the program at your stage I would be much happier. I think even Revivogen would help as you don't need any re-growth. I wonder what Hair Mcnair Costanza thinks????

Me? I'm not qualified to give anyone advice - unless they're looking for advice on how to chemically castrate themselves.
