actually dht is what makes our skin get old looking and oily. Ever since i started finasteride ive had no pimples at all, compared to having 1 every 3 or 4 days prior.

I definitely consider my health when on finasteride and i tend to think about the long term too, the thing is finasteride has been around for over 20 years, and with all the hype pfs gets believe me, if they could prove any other side ffect exists from finasteride it would be in plain view. remember that theres people out there looking for the next side effect finasteride could cause, lawyers and pfs researchers are praying that they could find more side effects to add to their lawsuit list. and you should also remember that we are taking a dosage 5x less than what they use for bph, and i only take mine 3-5 times a week which means im using even less than that. The way i see it is you should always have a period every now and then where you let your body feel like itself again just so you dont go so long term with finasteride constantly in your system.

and its funny cause increased estro also can play with your mood, muscle tone and skin, so you should figure out if its the elevated E thats causing this or the reduction in DHT because we have models on people who have no DHT since birth but not those who have elevated E levels for years.

Look at people who take steroids for muscle building their face shape changes ie more defined jaw etc. It makes sense that this drug must do something to us if it plays with hormone balance. IS DHT not need to keep a so called masculine look?

Anabolic steroids (which are all just chemical alterations of testosterone) won't change your structure once you're fully developed. You're thinking of growth hormone, which CAN actually increase the size of your bones/organs. It's why some of those guys who've used it have massive heads and guts. Finasteride should definitely not cause structure changes in a fully developed male. However, I wouldn't doubt that finasteride could increase estrogen in some men, which would lead to fat gain in certain parts of the body (like the face, for example), which would in turn make them think their structure changed.

I'd honestly like to see pics of Scotty's face before & after finasteride.

Skin and stuff like that is different. I'm sure messing with our hormones can and will cause changes in our skin.

I agree. Scotty should get his estrogen and other hormones checked. He might benefit greatly from something that reduces estrogen.

As someone said, it's probably the estrogen that is causing all the sides. As a male too high estrogen is the worst. And you'll never know if yours is too high by just doing a blood test, beacuse it depends on the receptors.

You want it too be the case. Like everything else, too much isn't good. Oily skin is actually a good thing, as it keeps the skin moist, but too much will look bad and give you acne. Lacking it, will make you sking dry and you'll age worse. Still, there is ALOT of other factors that are depending when it comes to aging.

And this is why I only take finasteride 3-5 days in the week. I like letting my body go back to almost natural levels as in getting some oily skin back and getting at least 1 two day break in the week.

i didn't know that though I thought increased Estro made your skin great and I thought the oil made you wrinkle worst.

I'll never let finasteride sides take over I'm set on finding a happy medium between minor hair benefit and no side effects, that's exactly where I feel I'm at right now

Estrogen seems to cause "bloating" in the face, wich looks good in females and also makes them look "younger". I think females have more fat storage in the face overall, due to estrogen. Take a look at some of the anorexic fashion models who barely have any facial fat. They look slightly manlier. However, when it comes to aging in females and males it think makeup is the major difference.
