It depends. Many derms will push their own hair and skin vitamin products on their customers, which are unproven for male and female pattern hairloss. Supplements can help improve the look of hair, but you don't need to buy the doctor's custom blend. There are lots of hair blends in stores now for cheaper. As far as pushing minoxidil or finasteride, I doubt they make any money off that honestly. Certainly not off minoxidil cause it's available over the counter at any pharmacy. Some may push laser devices or their own custom minoxidil brands, which are generally useless.
Just go and see what they say about your hairloss. The derm might diagnose your loss as something other than Androgenetic Alopecia, which changes how you address it, but almost 99% of loss cases are going to be Androgenetic Alopecia. It's a good idea to do blood work for blood ferritin, vitamin and mineral deficiency plus typical blood work to rule out any obvious issues.
Don't be surprised though if the derm knows next to nothing about hair loss. Many of them are clueless about anything other than simple skin conditions. Not all though.
Generally speaking, if you're confirmed to have Androgenetic Alopecia, then you're in the same boat as the rest of us. Your best options are minoxidil, finasteride, dutasteride, a keto shampoo, or one of the experimentals. Pretty much nothing else does anything for Androgenetic Alopecia.
