I was wondering if drugs like minoxodil or RU 58841 ever go into your system or make it past the general scalp region.

Minoxidil goes systemic at a percentage of max %4. Because of the low absorption speed and the fact that it is poorly absorbed, systemically available minoxidil is clinically unimportant. I don't know about ru though.

I think its much debated here..you have to google the studies if you can

some will tell you yes here and some will tel you no.

Personally i had side effects on oral spironolactone, I am on topical spironolactone now and I never had side effects from the topical..but the oral i had sides.

Yes it slowed down the shed..I started it in September by November it slowed down..then I started minoxidil and I had some shedding 2 weeks in, then some regrowth by week 6 sprouted.

I had good response to treatment but about a month ago I started to shed small hairs again like crazy...

I added topical finasteride two weeks ago...it seems to have slowed down the shed now--but too early to be certain.

I lost some of the ground I had gained which sucks...

I am feeling very down this week, especially today.

I am not sure If i should continue to add stuff or just wait.

I don't see regrowth yet which sucks.

LOL what made you laugh this week?

my long standing trolling war with gi jane...some random dude half way across the globe whos seemingly obsessed with me. i am 30 lol

buckthorns situation.. i dont mean to laugh at him, but his situation is hilarious. non stop boners during the night and the feeling 1000's of insects crawling on your scalp 24 hours a day. the poor guy just wanted to treat his hair loss. now hes is f*****g agony. as much as i feel for him and hope he fixes it, his posts have me in tears

i could go on

the randomness of all this sh*t is hilarious to me.

laughing like this really does help me deal with my shitty balding

Do you recommend I try topical if I get sides from oral?

I don't know, I think topicals can go systemic just less so.

I think you should try oral--IF you get sides then go off and try topical.

Some people definitely get sides--but everyone is different.

What product do you recommend anyway? im willing to test anything. Is the derminator the best?

Common sense says dermapen type products are better. Dermarolling would create too much damage as it creates an angle during penetration. Dermapens like the derminator are horizontal and create precise points of penetration.

RU goes systemic. Whether you will feel that or not generally depends on how androgen-dominant you are. If you are a bit hypogonadal you will probably get better hair results but the side effects will be a lot more noticeable. They also seem to get worse after days of consecutive use.

Anyway, that has been my experience.
