Do we think it's possible to turn this gene off again? :(

Anyway, maybe CB-03-01 would be just like RU58841 and it would be available soon and then we could all just stop Finasteride and apply this topical CB-03-01 that would block the DHT in the scalp (more than oral finasteride) and cause no side effects at all. Let's hope it works.

So, am I right in saying these things achieve this better than more current topical treatments such as Nizoral? Doesn't Nizoral both block 5ar/DHT and bind to receptors?

(I'm not saying nizoral is as good as RU58841 or CB-03-01, I'm just making the comparison :) )

nizoral not have any effect in the form of shampoo, if you take it orally as I'm taking, you will have an effect on the 5AR

Where did you hear that Nizoral "blocks" 5a-reductase? To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't do that.

Oh, what does it do then? I mean maybe I was being sloppy, but I thought it lowered scalp DHT and bound to androgen receptors, that's why I've been using it every few days!

I read it here: http://www.androgeneticalopecia.com/hai ... ness.shtml

Do you think it would be a good idea to use this too: http://www.hairstimulator.net/thickshampoo.htm

Hmm... I guess I'm still refining my regimen :)

The active ingredient in Nizoral (ketoconazole) has been shown to block androgen receptors (another common name for that is "antiandrogen"). It can also interfere with the synthesis of testosterone when given in significant systemic doses, but that shouldn't be an issue when it's applied topically in a shampoo.

Ah. So what is the best way to lower my scalp DHT topically?

I have ordered this, but of course it may not be as potent as other solutions :)

Don't know for sure. Revivogen is one thing that comes to mind, but its true efficacy at fighting male pattern baldness has always been controversial.
