Does inhibiting 5AR cause increase in libido?

I am pretty confused here. When I was taking finasteride, I had decrease in libido and erections. The effects stayed even after stopping finasteride

. After taking supplements that supposedly inhibitor 5AR I had an increase in libido and erection since less testosterones is converted to dht ( meaning more test floating around?)

Libido does a lot more than give you an election. Its the lifeblood of being male.

In response to OP question my hair count has gone up with saw palmetto and red ginseng, and energy/libido/mojo all high. Finasteride was the complete opposite, so your experience isn't unique.

There are literally millions of men on finasteride doing perfectly well without all of their DHT thereby showing how uncrucial it is. Your claim is utter nonsense. Finasteride is one of the literally only 3 or 4 things that work to prevent hair loss, and you're speaking out against it. Why do you even post on a hair loss prevention forum?

I've first hand experience of low libido from taking the stuff years ago its literally written on the leaflet as a side effect.

Is this irony? Were literally saying there are ways to reduce/control DHT without lowering libido, as opposed to finasteride which does exactly that along with your limp dick. Im nearly 40, took finasteride from 23-25, lost more hair and only time in my life I had libido issues. Never touched the multi billion dollar 'DHT blocking medication' since, and my hairs better than it was 15 years ago.

I don't care, I've been taking it for 11 months and I am doing perfectly fine and also maintaining my hair for the moment. It might affect people worse later in life as erection quality and libido generally lower with age.
