Id stick with the propecia. From what Ive read, for everybody that got a better result from dutasteride than finasteride, there is somebody that got frontal shedding on dutasteride that they never got on finasteride.

Seems as though the sides were not any worse on dutasteride as far as people reporting ED and sexual problems.

I took Propecia for one year and last week went to my Doctor for my annual exam and I asked him about Avodart. He told me that the side effects seemed to be even fewer than with Propecia, so he wrote me a prescription and wanted to see me again in three months. He also noticed that I had experienced very good results with my program of Propecia and Rogaine. Hopefully, the Avodart will work even better. Time will tell. I should mention that for the first week I have had no side effects with Avodart. I did with Propecia, but the side effects left after about 1 month. Side effects were ED and decreased Libido. The Avodart is a little on the costly side, but may be worth it. Time will tell.

What doctor is that? I cannot believe dutasteride has fewer sides than finasteride.

I'm approaching my second week of Avodart, and no side effects so far, except for a huge increase in the frequency of urination. I did experience that on propecia, but not nearly to this extent. I've heard that dutasteride does have this affect on the prostate, so it's not something to be concerned about. But anyway, 2 weeks is not a significant amount of time. I'm just putting my two cents in.

Dr. Anderson. Hollywood Clinic, Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas.
I don't know if he had prescribed it for hair loss before, however he stated that he had prescribed it for BHP and at least in the 0.5 mg dose he said that sided effects, especially ED and reduced libido had been less than with propecia. So far, I can tell no difference, but it has only been a week.[/quote]

I didn't have too bad a sides from finasteride but they were there. Lower libido, unit not as hard as I would have liked etc.

I had NONE of these on dutasteride and in fact would say it was the exact opposite of finasteride. Now hair on the other hand, that's a different story

My hair thinned quite a bit in the 8 months I took it. I used Durprost by Cipla. The front took the biggest hit.

How old are you? That must not came from dutasteride......
Perhaps it would have come with finasteride, too.

I'm 32. I used finasteride for 6 years prior. It likely slowed my thinnig down but did not stop it.

so

this may have been the result of dutasteride affecting the frontal hairs like other dutasteride users ?

im gonna get off the sh*t, and get back on finasteride. dutasteride is too expensive at the moment.
