I'd say Abe Shinzo has a more superior NW0 hairline in his age.

He does but I don't know about "superior" lol which is a forum comment mostly, once you get to Norwood 2 and below (nicely sitting on the forehead) there isn't any difference. I think both those guys have their original hairline and I would take the Chinese one as it looks full and masculine still with a decent medium forehead, the Jap has a feminine one like Bill Clinton and the forehead is too small and girly. 4-5cm foreheads are for girls with temples going in that much.

The only acceptable forehead in 2021 for both men and women.

His successor has a combover tho.

At the same time, Emperor's family has great hair genetics, no one since Meiji (first one to be photographed) goes past NW2 and even Hirohito's brother who lived to 100 ended up with a full head of thick hair.

I wonder whether they even check their future wives' family history in terms of hair before marrying.

Actually, Diana's father was a diffuse thinner throughout his life who ended up at least NW5 with a strong forelock. The thinning was noticeable throughout his life, though you are right, he had a NW1 hairline through big part of it. Diana's brother, on the other side, has considerable recession, but his hair are thick enough wherever he has it not to be considered "bald".

This could explain why Philip and Harry balded more aggressively than their father, assuming that he has some non-X-chromosomal balding gene. Which appears to be likely, because men on the Charles' female ancestral line had good hair and Philip's father was also balding, while his maternal grandfather seems to end up with NW2.
