The ancient Assyrians were putting oil in their hair 3000 years ago; scientists today haven't gone much further than that.
Brother. You cant compare those days vs today. Join the brotherhood there is still hope for you. Also you need a good solvent and penetrator such as DMSO that was discovered in 1866. Otherwise the oils will just sit on top of your scalp and barely penetrate. Nobody said that putting just oils on your head grows hair. Its more complicated than that.

I should have shaved my head and wrapped in pulverized cress before starting this. Wasnt it the ancient greeks rubbing bird crap on their heads as a cure. Craziest one that I remember was the guy rubbing lard on his head. Dont think it worked much for others though who tried it. Must have got lucky and that somehow relieved the inflammation/DHT. I think the main problem with these oils by themselves is like said above much doesnt reach that bulge area applied without somèthing like DMSO. I think they tested rosemary oil and found that out. You think it would easily make it flowing down the hair shaft but most of it doesnt.

Disagree. Scientists today have created a way for you to transition your gender!

Alright I am at the 22 day mark and all my hair has grown back in that bald spot just like the mouse.....!!!

Just kidding but this stuff is actually really working. Most of those bordering hairs are in anagen now after many of them had been stuck in a catagen like state for a long time. The vellus hairs I had in the bald spot continue to grow and in the last couple of days I have sprung up new vellus hairs in an area on that bald spot I haven't had visible hair in at least 3+ years. This stuff is definitely rescuing miniaturized hairs that were below the surface of my skin the follicle had shrunk so much.

If it keeps working like this I wouldn't be surprised if the PP405 company pays those Taiwan researchers something to make sure their stuff never gets a basic clinical test and then is marketed to the public. The Taiwan group did a patent on it but they cant stop someone from just mixing whatever alcohol they used for dissolving it and just mixing that with the same fatty acids from another source or with another type of alcohol dissolver and selling that. PP405 cant do anymore than this is doing I think and could possibly just be a little weaker if anything I would think.

Saturating my scalp with the avocado oil DMSO mixture every other day is definitely blowing away so far what a dermaroller damaging your skin releasing some of those acids can do. I improved a little for maybe 7 months with a dermaroller some years back until I started losing the battle again but it never rescued any non-visible hairs that I remember in that area. I think it mostly just made some hairs a little thicker. This shows flooding that area with those acids reaching the receptor seems to be the real deal.

The PP405 people claimed their stuff was giving big results to about 1/3 of the people at the 8 week mark I think it was and working on balding areas of some NW4s and NW5s from how they described it. My thinking is if someone is NW4 or higher they could have quite a bit of fibrotic tissue built up keeping the environment from allowing some hair to make a comeback. Is that why PP405 worked great at only the 8 week mark in 1/3 of the people and not as good as that in the other 2/3 of the people? My guess is they didn't even have NW6s and NW7 included in that group. My thinking on this stuff now is any follicle that isnt completely gone and replaced by scar tissue can be saved by this stuff if the skin environment will allow hair growth and the hair shaft to form. I think the follicles would become vellus hairs by at least around 9 weeks if that is the case. I doubt anyone will see new hairs popping out after 9 weeks unless they are doing something that is getting rid of built up fibrosis etc. The other big question is can this stuff have any chance of turning the stem cell pool that remains after the follicle has been destroyed into follicles again? Some researchers seem to think its possible if they could be turned on again. I wish I had kept track to like 10 years ago the missing hairs to see if any of those sprout up again.

If they made it into a topical like minoxidil that would be fine to use. But atm its a hassle to smear oils on your scalp so often just to make that hair grow. I never liked topical use only oral. But I will try to use the topical at least twice a week. But too paranoid about DMSO. I dont want that sh*t to go systemic cant be that good in the long run and cant trust sources of it either. Even my bottle says to avoid skin contact and not for human or animal use. Even when the bottle says pharma grade 99.9% pure from amazon and it smells of garlic. Im just mixing the oils with alcohol atm to be on the safer side. Do you think adding some PG will help even more? I read dmso can cause cell damage in hair folicles from a study also so definately staying away from it. At least the taiwan study used alcohol and not dmso correct?

DMSO can help some things but it shouldnt have any effect on what these fatty acids are doing by hitting those receptors so I would think a properly dissolved alcohol carrier would be good enough.

I read it needs to be 99.95% or greater pharma grade DMSO. I get my DMSO 99.995% pure on ebay from enchanted waters I think the company is called. The pharma grades is safe for human use but I think some places always place that there for legal reasons. DMSO will actually remove crap from your scalp on its own but not as much as combining it with other things will. DMSO is supposed to be healthy for you but its a pain applying it every other day. I am just now mostly over the funny feeling that DMSO mixed with avocado oil gives me also from some of it going systemic. DMSO on its own didnt give me the same feeling. My plan is to quit this at about the 10 weeks mark to see how those hairs react to that. Will they keep growing normally like they should in theory. Hopefully this is something after the initial phase you just have to hit every so often to keep the hair you got back.

I need to find out what is the best alcohol to dissolve those 2 fatty acids in and what the % of each thing needs to be to mix it properly so I can apply it that way after the 10 week mark. My thinking is the higher the fatty acid content the better. So I would like to know what is the highest % that can be used compared to the alcohol % that will still assure it dissolves properly.

How would one tell that the oils dissolves? Wont the texture still look and feel oily? For example if I use lets say 5ml of the oil how many ml of lets say 95% ethanol would I need?

I have no idea myself.

I asked an AI this (how high can the % of oleic acid be to dissolve in ethanol) and this was the answer it gave. lol

Oleic acid can be effectively dissolved in ethanol at high concentrations. Typically, a concentration of around 150 mM is used to create a stock solution. However, achieving this concentration may require gentle warming and vortexing to ensure complete dissolution.

Solubility Characteristics

  • Oleic acid has low water solubility but is more soluble in organic solvents like ethanol.
  • Its solubility can be influenced by temperature; heating to around 65°C may help in achieving higher concentrations.
Practical Considerations

  • When preparing solutions, ensure proper mixing and consider the use of sterile conditions if applicable.
  • The solubility may vary based on the specific conditions and purity of the oleic acid used.

At least argan oil is a thin oil and penetrates skin better than thicker oils so thats good and its easier to dissolve. Im gonna order 95% alcohol from italy maybe this month we will see. Only got 40% vodka atm which isnt enough.

Tried this question also (how high can the concentration be of oleic acid to fully dissolve in ethanol)

Oleic acid can dissolve in ethanol at concentrations up to approximately 20 mg/mL. Higher concentrations may require gentle warming and vortexing to achieve full dissolution. For stock solutions, concentrations between 100-200 mM are often used, but practical solubility limits in ethanol are around 1.5 mg/mL for oleic acid sodium salt

It looks like palmitoleic acid the other acid used you can get from Sea Buckthorn seed oil.

Sea buckthorn seed oil is soluble in ethanol. Ethanol is a polar solvent that can effectively dissolve various oils, including those derived from sea buckthorn seeds. Studies have shown that ethanol extraction yields significant amounts of beneficial compounds from sea buckthorn, indicating its effectiveness in dissolving the oil and extracting valuable nutrients.

Thats great.
  • Solubility: Sea buckthorn seed oil is soluble in ethanol, oil, and DMSO.

Got this answer linked to some articles. I also saw some things suggesting at least 1:5 for palmitoleic acid.

* Misread what the palmitoleic acid ethanol ratio meant - it means 1 part acid to 5 parts ethanol which means 1/6 actually to 5/6.

I am thinking reading all this stuff that if you mix those 2 things in with the ethanol that a ratio of 1/6 fatty acids and the Sea buckthorn seed oil with regards to the 2nd fatty acid to 5/6 ethanol would assure its getting dissolved good. Also it needs to be heated to around 150 degrees for a little bit I guess after mixing it for the best dissolving results.

To ensure oleic acid dissolves in ethanol, a common ratio is 1:3. This means for every 1 part of oleic acid, 3 parts of ethanol are used. This ratio helps to achieve a good solubility due to the polar nature of ethanol and the non-polar characteristics of oleic acid, allowing for effective mixing.

Considerations

  • Temperature: Higher temperatures can enhance solubility.
  • Concentration: A higher concentration of ethanol may improve the dissolution process.
  • Stirring: Agitation can also aid in dissolving oleic acid in ethanol more effectively.
For specific applications, such as esterification reactions, the optimal molar ratio may vary, with some studies suggesting ratios up to 1:6 for maximum efficiency

I should have bought this instead... Its 99.99% pure and its pharma quality with good reviews even. And I bought a 99.9% for nothing. Bah... Seems to be from germany. But the site is amazon sweden. But dmso seems scary because if its not properly diluted it can make the skin burn itch and flake and the smell of it can probably linger in your hair and skin even breath I read. :O but I can always use 95% alc. Nice to have two options at least.

I contracted autism from reading Lawton's posts
He should change his name to hair like a fox in about 10 weeks.

You are balding pretty badly tbh
He is growing hair without finasteride and min isnt that remarkable? No need for HRT even. He will look like chewbacca by the end of this month. And all the femboys on the hormonal thread will be jealous. BUT its still a treatment at the end of the day just like finasteride+min or HRT. And needs to be done often to sustain the results im sure. We need a cure not treatments. But at least oral finasteride+min is an easy treatment to follow. Some have already tried this experiment for months.

Some people say that miniaturization claim has been debunked before though it persists. Transplants work because of bringing the environment with them that will usually last for years.

Are they saying people tried it with alcohol with no success? Curious if they did their homework and made sure it was being dissolved enough and the right alcohol was being used because without a good carrier not much of those fatty acids will reach the receptors it needs to reach. I guess the main reason I jumped into doing it with DMSO right away is because I knew just mixing it 50/50 with that would flood the receptors with the 2 fatty acids. It floods my blood stream with some of it also. I am definitely going to stick with the DMSO mixture for 10 weeks after reading that however.

* Edit: Yes DMSO - can cause you to give off a garlic smell to others though you usually cant notice it yourself. Its why I apply it a few hours before going to sleep as its gone by the next day. I dont have anyone sleeping by me now to complain about the smell.
