Feel like everyone is always looking at my hair

I think that they either were laughing at me being bald

Your not bald dude. A NW1.5/2 that isn't detectable in normal lighting conditions (i.e: when the 1000wat brightness of flash shines on you for a split second to get a picture). I swear to god if we had to live around that light intensity all the time, nobody would see your thinning anyway because we'd all be BLIND.

Seriously, it's good that your here and yes you are starting to thin, a little bit- but come on man. You reaaaly need to start considering what you would feel like if you started to tip towards NW3/4 or more.

I think your really cool, just sometimes the things you say ... lol. Before I came here, I didn't think hair loss was such a big deal. And now I see all these posts of people who have 99% perfect hair, complaining. And it makes me paranoid now walking around, wondering if other "people who think their balding" are going to see me and thank themselves they aren't as bad as me.

Have you ever stood under TV studio lights? I did some PR work last year for a company and the local TV wanted a Press Officer for interview and it was my turn on the rota.

But when I saw myself on the monitor under those lights I just looked so bald and so lame I told them they could find someone else.

f*** it, nobody mentioned Toppik to me - you'd think those TV types would know all the tricks.

I agree...I'd say an unusually high proportion of posters in this forum have underlying anxiety/depression issues that existed prior to any hair loss. For many of these guys with 99% perfect hair, if they weren't balding they'd find some other problem to focus on.

The vast majority of balding men don't frequent websites such as this. The people who are here are generally those least able to deal with the whole process of going bald.

Take a look a people's profiles...I'd say the posts per day average is a good indicator as to how you're handling the mental side of hair loss. I reckon anything over a few posts a week (which includes me) is a sign of an abnormal reaction.

EDIT: I'm not so sure about that last bit anymore...but I definately do think this website attracts people with underlying mental issues and so presents a slightly warped view of manageable hair loss versus major hair loss.

I agree that a lot of posters here likely have underlying anxiety/depression. Hairloss is a nasty thing, but in some guys here it reveals a lack of development of coping skills and general hardiness. A few guys are doing a great job overcoming and growing. I see the progress. Some, though, are as they were the first day they posted.

I could'nt agree more. Unfortunatly I'm probably one of them.

I think we're all struggling to cope (some more than others) otherwise we wouldn't be here. And I think we represent a minority...but we should take comfort from the fact that most people are able to take the hit and move on unaffected; and try to be one of those people.

Very tough to do Skaff. It's a mortal blow for some people, I like to think that I handle it better than some because I still go out in public with my hair the way it is, without toppik or anything.

I am also being paranoid on people starring @ my hair all the time. I will not sit if someone is standing up above me, and i avoid like hell bright lights. So I keep in mind 2 things to avoid getting depressed:
1) People who are not balding ARE NOT starring on others people hair that much.
2) As long as you have hair all over your head (and at a density like yours) you NEVER gonna be "that bald guy".

the only people who look at hairlines are the balding ones. i cant stand them, you could see them with this creepy look on their face just staring at hairlines including mine. I used to be guilty of this when i first noticed hair loss, but now i could give a sh*t what the next guy has. unless his hairline is perfect then i find myself looking at it, because i find it nice

Thats because you dont need it! you still have a have pretty full of hair. What will you be like if you progress to Norwood 4/5/6?

Hopefully I won't progress past NW3 in my lifetime because of Avodart and treatments in the future as well.

I don't think anyone on campus looks at my hair. But I'm sure if I went to a party with youthful good looking people, they'd be looking and wondering why I was there.

WHY !??!
For petes sake your only 22 !! Why would'nt you be at a party. Go to any club and you will see oldies and ugly people. Everybody has the right to socialise. Having a life is not exclusivly for the most beatiful people, have you spent too much time watching television or something?
Do you have any pics posted?

Why CCS? Because you're 26?

That's no reason to not have fun at a party.

I have to say, reading these posts really help me because I can finally vent, and see others who are in the same boat as I am. Before finding this forum, I could honestly say that everyone I have ever met in real life does not find hairloss as painfully amusing as I do.

I don't get it? Nobody here finds hairloss amusing. Maybe you meant another word the opposite.

People in real life generally don't give much of a sh*t. And 90% of the jokes are just jokes. Really. Taking everything personally is what a lot of people shouldn't do.

Hairloss is an health problem. Nobody likes to comb scalp with the aspect of being devastated by acid rain.
