Dude, it's all psychological.
Apologies if it has been covered and excuse my ignorance if this seems stupid.
I have started finasteride, as suggested by a few members on my thread (I'm NW2, always have been but temples have thinned out recently). Anyway I decided to start taking 0.5mg if finasteride, it's my third day.
Every time I take it I feel really zoned out, if that makes sense. I feel really bizarre, as if I'm on drugs. Not a bad feeling per say but I feel not myself, a bit dazed, if you will.
Could be totally coincidental, maybe it's all in my mind but im normally clear and level headed.
Did it get better Fter stopping?I ciuld relate 100%. This is my 3rd attempt being on finasteride and although I don't have this problem much anymore this time around.. this may just actually be your hormones out of whack.. you should give it some time to adjust but when I first took it I felt this to a great extent where I didn't even wanna go out with friends cause I felt so out of it.. now I always stick between .3-.5 doses and I am doing fine... my advice is stick it out for a bit... it's a month into my 3rd attempt and this is usually where I feel sides and I could truly say that so far my only side is watery ejaculate. Good luck bro
How long did it take for the brain fog/drunkenness to go away?I had the same thing on Finasteride and sexual side effects, thats why I stopped that rubbish.
Was yours as bad as the OP? Did you feel confused, disconnected, etc? How long for it to go away?Sorry for the delay. I did decide to stop taking it. I was at a half dose already, and for me the fog was getting worse, which I can't have due to my line of work. After a few days without finasteride, I still felt foggy, but it cleared up gradually after that. I had been on for six months. I can't believe how the sides sidled up on me. I also noticed a definite increase in sex drive also, which I didn't even think was being affected when I was on it.
Its lowers your neurosteroids in the brain. That is what causes brain fog. What it means or why it effects certain people god only knows.
I think propecia ended up inhibiting the 5-ar 3 enzyme on top of the 5-ar 2 they were targeting. The 5-ar 3 probably converts that one hormone into neurosteroids so it ends up changing that by accident. Kind of collateral damage.
Its not psychological, but some people dont notice it or dont get it. We dont know what they really do anyway
Did it get better Fter stopping?
Definitely not psychological. Brain fog is a real thing. Tiredness, ball ache, loss of morning erections, etc.
That being said. These sides are manageble and tolerable even at the full dose of 1 mg. I would just take the 1 mg dose and see what happens.
Peoples arguments for lower doses are based on dht amounts. When it comes to actually saving hair 1 mg is the most effective. And significantly better than .2 mg per japanese studies. Granted .2 mg is still effective.
The Japanese studies actually show that 0.20 mg/day has a statistically identical performance for hair growth as 1.0 mg/day.
How long for these nueros to come back?
I don't remember feeling like that. If anything i had a sudden libido boost (hell yeah) followed by being back to baseline, or even lower than that. And lately (6ish months), bad memory, mild brain fog, unable to focus or get enjoyment from things. If you wish give it two weeks or a month to see the changes in your body. If things remain the same i'd suggest you to not push your luck and try other treatments. This drug fucks with your body and mind.Apologies if it has been covered and excuse my ignorance if this seems stupid.
