Fibrosis Of Balding Skin-something That Needs To Be Addressed

I have noticed with the vigorous massage and minoxidil the shedding has been horrendous. Like hair all over the bathroom, in my hands when shampooing or scratching my head, all over my shirt. Just crazy...touching my scalp means a strand of hair will be attached to my finger. It has only been a month but I definitely think the massaging seems to accentuate the shedding. But I believe in it.

To put in my two cents, I've been doing scalp massage for 4,5 months now. 20 minutes a day.

Things I've noticed:

- Scalp is more flexible
- Very greasy in the beginning, not at all anymore
- Peach fuzz has grown on the front scalp and the crown. This was actually noticed by others. (could just be part of the 'normal' balding cycle).

Just in case, I took a good before pic, but as of now there isn't much (or any) progress that's actually visible on pictures.

Even if this doesn't work for hair loss, I'll keep doing it, because it feels REALLY NICE. :)

When you say people are noticing peach fuzz does this mean you are very bald?

To add to this I noticed that a portion of bald people have big scars on their scalp. I was always curious why this was. Perhaps it's related to this topic.

@Retinoid @GerdVonHimpfendinckz is there a specific massage routine you all follow?
Btw, I think the increased greasiness is the release of old sebum.

Nope, just massaging with fingertips, making circles, squeezing, using the palms, whatever feels best and doesn't hurt my hands.

The only consistent thing for me is 20 minutes, daily.

But: I'm not expecting to regrow any lasting hair with this.

Btw, I think the increased greasiness is the release of old sebum.

I start off with stretching all over my scalp. Then pinching and then rubbing. Then I lightly brush the area with my finger tips in circular motion. I also derma roll once per week 1.5mm. I usually do this for around 20mins, once per day but don't do it everyday as I like to give my scalp a break.

I believe if I can keep the scalp structurally sound this will help keep my hair healthy. I hope the anecdotes and couple of studies are true for me too...healthy scalp==hair as opposed to abnormally low Dht==hair.

The problem with dermarolling is that it can actually increase fibrosis too from the wounding in some cases... so im not sure about using it, who knows if you are f*****g sh*t up or not since it's not visible what you are doing, not even with a microcamera i would be able to diagnose how fibrosis looks like.

I have heard this theory however I guarantee you that if you shaved that guy's head it would look more 'egg' shaped. The hair makes it look more square as you say. I think the balding comes from the actual scalp skin becoming riddled with fibrosis due to various factors. Head development may play a part in the initial cascade of events in some people but I think it is safe to say at this time nobody knows what causes male pattern baldness (initially).
yeah, it's dumb to compare 1 guy with a NW0 and some bald guy and say "this guy has an egg head"

find a NW0 that has a buzzcut at least.

John Cena has terrible crown baldness, many speculate it was the reason he kept the buzzcut all those years

Look I'm not saying skull growth is the reason for hairloss, but I think it plays a part.

Derma rolling will not cause fibrosis. It is not a deep enough injury. The minor wounding helps to remodel the skin and attract growth factors. It is also very helpful for anti aging, esp the lower half of the face as it helps remodel the collagen (have used it before for the nasal labial folds).

1.5mm per week would be the max. Do not apply topical a 24hrs after ward and look up videos to see how you correctly should derma roll so you do not scratch yourself.

what do you think about this guy?
https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...inasteride-results-7-mo-treatment-pics.44087/

epic regrowth.. claims to use 1,5mm daily, but "not pressing too much", and he adds topicals right after dermarolling

my question is why the f*** would you use 1,5mm if you are only perforating a bit, why not use a smaller needdle and not worry about over pressing?

i see very different views on dermarolling. some claim 1,5mm is insane and using topicals right away is nuts, others do that... wtf

also im on minoxidil, im not supposed to spend 24 hours without minoxidil expose, and im also on topical finasteride, so 24 hours would mean no treatment for 24 hours...
