Final word on generics and dosing of finasteride?

So what's the general consensus on generics?

I'm currently using CIPLA brand Fincar from Inhousepharmacy. Do I have reason to worry about its effectiveness?

Secondly, my dosing has been somewhat sporadic, but I am making an effort to keep it more consistent. I am crushing two 5mg fincar pills into 50 ml of Everclear (190 proof alcohol) and taking 2.5 ml per day (which equals out to .5 mg/dose).

But from my understanding of the various studies conducted, it appears that almost any dose of finasteride above .2 mg suppresses DHT to a reasonably similar extent. So just to play Devil's advocate for a moment - wouldn't taking finasteride - at different dosages and at different intervals (but never long enough to allow DHT levels to rise to baseline) be just as beneficial for hair as taking a consistent dosage?

I'll let others answer your dosage question, but I will say that my results from using 1mg of fincar a day for 2 years were amazing. My crown was the slightly thinning toward the end, but overall the hair got thicker and looked a lot healthier.

I used fincar from Inhouse for the first year or so of treatment and again late last year for a couple of months while looking for another doctor to prescribe Proscar. It works just as well as any finasteride I've received from my neighborhood pharmacy.

I think that the half-life of finasteride is such that you do not need to worry about being
that consistent with dosing. I just quarter the fincar with a pill cutter and I'm done. The
fincar is from inhouse and at times united.
